Conservatism in Exile
CDS ^ | 5/6/2010 | Jack Hunter

Posted on 05/06/2010 10:28:28 AM PDT by ezfindit

For true conservative victory, simply voting Republican won’t do Barack Obama is the most socialist president in American history. Before Obama, George W. Bush was the most socialist president in American history. Before Dubya, it was Bill Clinton, then Bush Sr., Reagan, and so on. Each successive administration, by and large, has presided over a federal government that has assumed more power and spent more money than the last. [...]

Conservatives who continue to make the case that Obama is worse than Bush are right, but the fact that Rush and like-minded pundits and politicians are unable to find fault with the last socialist Republican president is a pretty good indication as to what they’ll tolerate from the next one.

The only reason I ever voted Bush was fear of Gore and Kerry.

Yes. Too many republicans have abandoned conservative principles and compromised with socialists and communists. No more!

Our current president isn’t compromising with Socialists and Communists, he’s a certified Red Diaper Doper Baby “true believer”.

And our country has been on this path for generations. And yes it is getting worse. The chains of Socialism are not easily cast off.

JAck Hunter is both an idiot and a liar. Rush and plenty of conservative commentators attacked many of Bush’s policies.

re: Rush and like-minded pundits and politicians are unable to find fault with the last socialist Republican president

BS! And many of the others found, and spoke out against, the mistakes Dubya was making. It's simply not accurate to say conservative pundits were unable to find fault with a socialist Republican president. Unlike liberal and progressive pundits our commentators had much less trouble speaking the truth to our side.

Not true. Bush took a lot of flack from Repubs and conservatives. The writer may not notice it but Limbaugh is pretty consistent whether the president is a Repub or Dem.

And conservatives such as the FR crowd were very frustrated with GW. We generally liked him as a person, we defended him against bogus attacks from the Left, but his willingness to compromise with the Left was a constant source of anger and frustration here. His failure on the border, his failure to defend the Border Patrol agents, his failure to defend Libby who was railroaded, were inexcusable. At the end when he helped to jam the bail-out bill through, again, inexcusable.

That's a good point. He makes a few blanket statements that stray too far. He is right though that the GOP has compromised its values and supported liberalism/socialism light.

Hunter is far worse. He supported the Democrats in 2004 and 2006. He believes in ending Fusion Conservatism and replacing it with a left-right anti=war alliance.

JFK was probably the least socialist and it got him killed.
