The Coffee Party Heats Up [Should Tea Partiers Worry?]
Newsweek ^ | April 24th 2010 | Steve Tuttle

The Coffee Party Heats Up Tired of all the Tea Party talk, Annabel Park decided to throw a Coffee Party—and 200,000 people showed up.

By Steve Tuttle | NEWSWEEK Apr 22, 2010

When Annabel Park imagined what it would be like to head a new national political movement, here is what she had in mind: a coming together of engaged, intelligent citizens who had tired of the angry rhetoric and accusations of the Tea Partiers; Americans of all political persuasions joining in a spirit of equanimity to discuss the nation's problems, and maybe even share a laugh. It was this beautiful vision that danced in Park's head on a recent Saturday as she made her way to Busboys and Poets, a cafe in Washington, D.C., for one of nearly 500 Coffee Party meetings taking place nationwide that day. She knew the house would be full—word had spread quickly on the group's swelling Facebook page. Park, a documentary filmmaker, was especially pleased that C-Span had arranged to broadcast the meeting.

But from the moment folks in the crowd stood up to speak their minds, Park knew these people had not come to sip cappuccinos and set an example of civility for an overheated nation. They were angry. They hated the Tea

Where is the negative coverage of these clowns?

We'll have to invent some like they do with Tea Partiers.

Okay, so I was walking through a coffeebagger party, when they spat on me and called me a Ni**er, chanted it 15 times over. And all those racist signs! And I never once saw a single minority in their rally! And their spokesperson was advocating violence and hate!

Something like that.

“Coffee Party activists held rally in DC and over 50 million attended.”

Counting headlice, scabies infestations and STD spirochetes.

"...Americans of all political persuasions joining in a spirit of equanimity to discuss the nation's problems...

And as long as you think Marxism could be made to work, they'll welcome you.

And the name of that "cafe," cripes, I can't put my finger on it, but something's wrong there.

Worry? Not in the least. Lefties are convinced that their best hope lies in manufacturing a pale imitation of an actual grass-roots movement that they can’t control and can’t suppress. I guess we should be flattered.

“I like the civility idea, but I hate the Tea Party people,” said attendee Karen Anderson.”

If this wasn’t LibSpeak, I’d swear it was hate speech. When they say it, of course, it’s not hate.

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/matthew-balan/2010/03/03/cnn-omits-coffee-party-founders-past-obama-volunteer John Roberts and Kiran Chetry omitted mentioning that Annabel Park, the founder of the so-called Coffee Party, worked as a volunteer for President Barack Obama's presidential campaign, during an interview on Wednesday's American Morning. The anchors also didn't mention Park's past work for the liberal New York Times. Roberts and Chetry interviewed the Coffee Party USA founder at the bottom of the 8 am Eastern hour. After an initial question about the origin of the name, the two asked about the principles of the nascent movement and if health care "reform" was going to be a major issue for it. In her last question to Park, Chetry did ask if the Coffee Party had any ties to a political party: "[T]he tea party movement really, in some ways, has been a challenge to Republicans to move more toward fiscal conservative ideals. Are you aligned with a party? I mean, as we know, passing health care reform has been a huge goal of liberal Democrats for decades. Are you aligned with the Democrats, trying to get them more to move to the left when it comes to health care?" Story Continues Below Ad ↓ The founder denied that her movement was aligned to any party, and actually criticized the longstanding two-party system in the United States as being "incredibly outdated." In reality, as William A. Jacobson of Legal Insurrection blog exposed, Park worked for one of the two parties, as an organizer and operator of the United for Obama video channel on YouTube (NewsBuster P. J. Gladnick blogged about Jacobson's expose on Tuesday evening). As the United for Obama page admits, "We are a network of Obama volunteers from all across the country and from all backgrounds working together to support Obama's message of unity and change....Some of us are filmmakers and we created this page to amplify Obama's message on YouTube...The filmmakers include...Annabel Park..." Coffee Party, Code Pink, Move On, SEIU, ACORN, the names change, but the face is the same.

But from the moment folks in the crowd stood up to speak their minds, Park knew these people had not come to sip cappuccinos and set an example of civility for an overheated nation. They were angry. They hated the Tea Party, and the Republican Party. They wanted to get even.
