dear mr. oblabo,
i, as an american citizen, do NOT “cherish” fairness. i cherish my family, my faith, my freedom, and my country. i prefer excellence over mediocrity, and recognize that if there is a winner, there must also be a loser. i believe in our laws being enforced. you, sir, may believe that laws should only apply to certain people and only be enforced when it is “fair”. i prefer the laws apply to everyone equally and that “fairness” not be a consideration. is it fair, sir, that we the people who live in this country legally should pay for the medical expenses of those who are not? is it fair that we have to pay more in taxes to give them social service handouts? is it fair that our taxes go up to maintain them in jails and prisons? i do not think that is fair to the tax paying citizens of this country. if you truly were interested in what is fair, you would not insist that we the people continue supporting a bunch of criminal parasites. living and working in this country without our permission is illegal, and we all pay for this crime that you seem to endorse. you are only interested in what is fair to the criminal not to the victims of the crime.

President Barack Obama criticized Arizona's tough immigration bill as irresponsible Friday and said his administration is examining whether it would violate civil rights.

Let us try to understand Obama's argument. Arizona passed a law to enforce Federal laws already on the books. And Obama is citing Arizona for enforcing the laws that Obama pledged to support when he became President.

We have a serious "disconnect" in this instance.

The law will never survive “strict scrutiny”. It is D.O.A.

My state has been singled out by the Prez as irresponsible. Hm. Never thought that would happen....

In August, we can carry concealed without a paper. It pisses them off, too. Maybe we here in AZ have a plan.

As I am in S. Utah, a mere 5 miles from the AZ border, it just makes me pack up faster to relocate to TX. As if we don’t have enough amigos in St. George now, the 90 day window on this law means I’d better get out of Dodge before the stampede. That’s what happened a couple years ago when AZ passed the strigent law involving employment documents. Couple this with our 2 hr. distance from Vegas, and it’s head-case of an economy...our unemployment rate will go up even higher than it is now.

I was in Walgreen’s yesterday, 10th person in line. There were nine people ahead of me. Not a single one of them spoke even ONE word of English.

It’s like this throughout St. George, UT.

“which threaten to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans”
God forbid we threaten those old basic notions.

John Bachelor's show just began with sad, mournful music. I thought to myself jokingly that the lead store is about the new Arizona immigration law. I remember Bachelor's past feeeeeelings about "undocumented" immigrants.

It was no joke. The lead story was indeed about the Arizona law and what to do about it now that it has become law.

We don't have an effective immigration law says Bachelor. I wonder how he explains why it's good that we ignored the 1986 "final" immgration fix. I guess we need a shinny new law with national ID's that go Ping!

Illegal means ILLEGAL. Who'd a thunk it? Much gnashing of teeth to follow. Film at eleven.

“which threaten to undermine basic notions of fairness”

Is our leader five years old? What does fairness have to do with the rule of law? The law is what it is. This is a country he’s trying to run not a playground.

Barry had better stay out of Arizona, or someone might ask him for proof of citizenship.

"That includes, for example, the recent efforts in Arizona, which threaten to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans, as well as the trust between police and their communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe," Obama said.

OK, so when are the PROPERTY OWNERS going to see some of that notion of fairness we cherish? When are the TAXPAYERS going to see some of that fairness we cherish? When are we, the CITIZENS of this nation, going to see some of that fairness, as in fairly enforcing immigration laws to counter the rapid influx of illegals to prevent further burdens on our economy, infrastructure, and culture?

Yes, Barry. We all notice how the current "trust between police and their communities" is keeping us so very safe in the reconquista territories. Sure would hate to break that sacred trust. What complete nonsense.

What makes you think it deserves “strict scrutiny”? Arizona is trying to protect itself from invading foreigners because the federal government refuses to perform its constitutional duty to defend the states from foreign invasion.
This act is a legitimate exercize of state police power, and it has a rational relationship to a legitimate state interest.
The federal government won’t do its job so Zero, Pelousy and Dingy Harry can either chalk their noses or step the hell back from the pool table.
Zero can play Lincoln if he wants, and it looks like he’s dying to, but a minor problem he’s facing is that `his’ Army trusts him about as much as most of the north, south, east and western parts of this country, as well as the SCOTUS.

This stupid ass arrogant prick. A president of the United States has a problem with the enforcement of the law. This is why, among many other reasons I have absolutely no respect at all for this man.

More States must be enticed to join with Arizona now.

I hope so also, especially Texas and New Mexico. California is a total loss. But I have a fear that both Texas and New Mexico will wait until they see what King Obama does. That, for these two States, is cowardly and just you wait and see. Both these States should work over the weekend and put a bill up for vote Monday. Fat chance.
