I am trying to understand the problem true opponents have on this issue. Not the La Raza wing of the left, but rather the libertarian view on this. Other than the fear of heavy handedness of the police, do libertarians and reasonable Democrats have a problem with asking suspicious people for documentation to those that appear to be breaking the law?
