There’s also the morale factor to consider. Even though the game shows a giant PT boat fleet defeats any enemy, it will always suffer heavy casualties as it moves in. That’s ok from a command viewpoint but the jolly jack tars in the lead boats might disagree with the rationale :)

That reminds me of one wargame put out by Avalon Hill where if you make a team out of snipers only, you will always win. It's been a while so the name escapes me. I also had the computer game for G.I. Joe for the Apple //e in the mid 1980's, everytime I chose the character, Recondo (sniper), I never lost.

It’s sort of like the saying, “Which fights better, a Rottweiller or a Rottweiller’s weight in Chihuahuas.” If course, you have to deploy and use such force in a manner that maximizes the advantages you have.

I think in many ways weve been trying to create our own battleships in DC to combat the Lefts battleships, and if we continue to do so, we will never win. Many would say that the Heritage Foundation is the largest DC-based conservative battleship, with an annual budget of probably $60-70 million. But to put it into perspective, the National Education Associations annual budget is $307 million. SEIUs is $300 million. AFL-CIOs is $120 million plus.So a better analogy might be to say that conservatives are trying to beat a battle group consisting of two carriers, a heavy cruiser, and misc. other assets, with a single destroyer.

Wow! Very thought-provoking concept. Will need to chew on that one for a while. Kind of like fielding a virus to destroy a mammalian enemy. Hmmm....

Its sort of like the saying, Which fights better, a Rottweiller or a Rottweillers weight in Chihuahuas.Or a fighting dog against a hundred rats. The dog starts out efficiently dispatching a rat a second, but almost always succumbs eventually to fatigue and blood loss from the two hundred tiny bites he suffers before he runs out of rats.

That’s a very good analogy.

Given the context, maybe a shark and a shark’s weight in minnows might be more accurate. :0
