I'll be more than happy to go to prison to fight for my freedom ( obamacare )
Tom Ashbrook - On Point Radio ^ | March 22nd | random caller

Posted on 04/11/2010 2:55:28 PM PDT by Halfmanhalfamazing

Caller: I'm very frustrated about what happened they didn't listen to the people at all.

I don't know if you happened to hear what Michelle Bachmann said about peacefully not complying with obamacare? I think that's going to be me.

I have read the bill and I know about the provisions that will throw me in prison and really I don't care. I'll be more than happy to go to prison to fight for my freedom.

Host: How do you see your freedom on the line here?

Caller: They are taking our money by fiat. They are taking our money and giving it to somebody else. I cannot pay my bills and I cannot feed myself and the people I need to take care of if it's taken from me by force.

Host: Do you mean in the mandate that everybody have health insurance?

Caller: Yes, that's the primary aspect of it as it sits right now, but that's not all the only aspect. This bill has hundreds of tax increases in it and it creates hundreds of new bureaucracies. It spends money that we don't frankly have and it's a threat to me and my family.

Host: Do you think you would have thought the same way about social security if you were on the whitehouse lawn in 1935?

Caller: I think I would have and given where social security is now with the.... what's the debt of social security? Isn't it like 25 trillion now? The people that said the things that they said about social security given the huge debt that it's in were correct. I saw a piece in USA Today about the combined debt of social security and medicare together is 60 trillion dollars.

At the rate they’re going we’d be better off in prison! Imagine working 60 hours a week only to have 99% of your income stolen away!

In a dark “what if” scenario there may be vigilantes performing mass prison escapes for imprisoned Obamacare inmates.

I will not go to prison, ever. I don't figure the most effective way to resist the destruction of my nation is to meekly let them throw me into the hell on Earth known as prison.

If I put the numbers together correctly from early 90s: inmates worked ~30 hrs?/week at ~$0.25/hr (or was that /day?) for an income of <$7.50/week. If that's 1% of potential earnings outside, that's $750/week. I guess you're in the ballpark, but with that low pay comes three meals a day and a bed, however crummy those are.

(There may be a reason in this somewhere why most of the homeless are not vying to become prison inmates.)

Yeah, I don’t think I’d want to go to prison either, but I could see the benefit of it.(devils’ advocate)

Let some americans start getting put in prison over this and then right there you’d have a no qualms about it set of americans who are victims(above/beyond economics) of obamacare and that kind of thing would create such a huge outcry from americans that it would likely get the bill repealed.

I’d never advocate this to anybody, but for those who truely feel this way about resisting and going to jail their efforts are hardly meek. As the caller clearly sounded passionate about all of this.

The sad thing is that it’s gotten to this point that we are looking at it this way.

The trick is to NOT go to prison...

It’d be better to have a plan in place ready to implement, and avoid the unlawful enforcement of this un-Constitutional Federal law...

Its going to take YEARS, many more than we believe to get this taken care of, and there are no guarantees that it will be repealed...

No one is going to back anyone else up on this, we are on our own when all is said and done, no one is going to bust anyone out of prison, or any other spectacle like that...

We all have to have our own, discrete, plan to be prepared for the coming storm...We know its coming, we just need to figure out how to weather it, and make our point at the same time when we do it...

They cannot fight us all, they cannot imprison us all (they can get a lot of us) but there are too many of us, but the real tragedy in all of this, is we cannot trust anyone else, not even folks here...

So let this just be that little secret we keep under our hats, and keep to ourselves...No one needs to know...

That all I have to say about it...

Never let these bast*rds get control of you. These are evil
devils that wouldn’t think twice about injecting you with
more so called vaccines and kill you. Never go to any confinement period.

If everybody just says "pizz on it, throw me in the slammer", would it still be prison? Sounds like it could turn into a big-azz campground to me.

I’m not going to pay one cent into Obamacare and I am not going to prison over it either. All I have to say is that if they plan to take me to prison over it, the last 300 yards before they get to my house are going to be a bitch!

It may not take many.

You have to remember, the liberal media does not have a monopoly anymore.

It would only take a handful to be willing to go to prison, and their families being knowledgeable on how to properly leverage the blogosphere, talk radio, and fox news.

Theoretically, it may only take one single person willing to do this. Let it become a top story on fox news and let americans widely talk about how a peaceful resister of obamacare went to prison.

Americans would side with the peaceful resister. I have a feeling this is exactly what Glenn Beck means when he talks about Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.

I would have been far more impressed with the caller if he had suggested that the inability to pay for health care out of pocket must result in the withholding health care.

Yeah, right, caller. It's easy to be a Wolverine when you're sitting on your ass in an air conditioned trailer house talking to some idiot on the radio. But when you are kicked out of your bed at 4 a.m. by a guy in a ninja suit who is holding a gun in your face, and you're watching them take your little boy away to be adopted out to the gay couple in Vermont, all that macho crap is going to vanish like a fart in a hurricane. Two weeks later you'll be in an orange jumpsuit standing in front of a federal judge crying your eyes out and begging them to let you pay their tax.

Jim Robinson, how long are you going to allow these Keyboard Kommandos to use FR as place to play Army Man?
