Democrats will attempt to push through as much as possible prior to the November elections. Remember the old saying “Throw enough crap on the wall and some of it is bound to stick”? That’s exactly what they are doing.

If they pass amnesty, that will truly be their Waterloo. This is even bigger than the HC “reform” just passed. It would put 25-30M people on the health rolls and make it clear that we are not a nation of laws.

Dems have to try Amnesty.

Signing up that many new “voters” who get “free” healthcare is the only way to maintain a majority in November.

Schumer and Grahamnesty, perfect together! Don't ask me why Schumer is doing this. He voted against border guards too.

Senate shuns attempt to add agents

77% Oppose Drivers’ Licenses for Undocumented Immigrants

Eighty-eight percent (88%) of Republicans oppose giving drivers’ licenses to undocumented immigrants. So do 68% of Democrats and 75% of those not affiliated with either major political party. There is little difference along gender, age, or income levels.

Polls in NY at the time were very similar, IIRC. Schumer is up for re-election this year. Chuck U Schumer is usually smarter than this.

...if they pass amnesty, that will truly be their Waterloo.

It depends on how many amnestied illegals they can get to the polls. Actually, lack of US citizenship is little impediment to voting since, thanks to adamantine Dem opposition, proof of it is never demanded upon registration and voting. B-1 Bob Dornan attributed his defeat in formerly rock-solid conservative Orange County, CA to illegal aliens bused to the polls.

“We will go into the field,” says [Rep. Luis] Gutierrez, “like the civil rights movement and the suffragists did.” “We will escalate,” says Gustavo Torres of Casa de Maryland, “to civil disobedience.”

So much for their claim that we need shamnesty because these folks are cowering "in the shadows."

Ubber-RINO indeed! Wimpy is working on this socialist agenda w/ Chuck U Schumer. And he's working with POS skerry on Cap & Tax.

Lady Linda is working more for the RATS than the pubs. Of course he's gotta be holding up McPain now also since McPain is having to play the part of a conservative while running to the right and trying to get reelected.

Double shot to include all the playas.

Make no mistake about it; if amnesty passes in any form it will bring about the end of the United States.

Mexico is now the new Colombia.

Our borders are not secure.

Amnesty would be the fastest way to import the widespread violence in Mexico to the United States.

Illegals are pros at false documents and stealing identities so any who wish to will travel here and get amnesty will succeed no matter what rules are in place, or any criminal background the person may have.

We would be announcing to the world that our laws mean nothing.

We are broke and cannot possibly sustain the numbers of additional people that would end up being legalized as a direct result of amnesty.

The author is saying we're not going to have the amnesty bill brought up this year. *Major applause*

Even if JD loses, he will have done a marvelous job stopping this monstrosity once again. McCain has to stay against it this whole year! Next time there will be between 5 and 8 (at least) senate seats go to the Republicans, so no cloture ever again on this disaster of a bill. Plus we have a great chance to take the house!

Woo hoo!

McCain is only onboard for certain until August 24.

Win or lose, he’s unpredictable after that date.

He'll be on board even if he wins, cause he's got to win in the general in November.

It may be a calculation, but it's one that favors our side of the issue.
