I understand. But Illinois is basically a Soviet satellite state.

You are insane if you think a non-criminal can win there. Kirk will at least caucus with the Republicans. I don't see why you want to help Obama by splitting the vote.

Kirk is the best we can hope for in IL.

Go to Libertarian candidate Mike Labno's home page. He is conservative on all of the issues including abortion, illegal immigration, and nat'l security which is rare for a Libertarian.

He will caucus with the Republicans.

You don't know that. Kirk was one of the cap-and-trade 8 Republicans. Kirk is also pro-gun control. Do you want a pro-gun control Republican in the Senate at a time like this?

If you don't understand that and want to support Obama go ahead.

Support of Kirk IS support of Obama's totalitarian agenda.

You are engaging in a self-fulfilling prophecy. Stop supporting RNC liberal hacks like Kirk. In the long run, they do not advance the conservative agenda nor will they stop the socialist Democrat agenda.

Kirk will at least caucus with the Republicans.

On what issues? Kirk is pro-gun control, pro-partial birth abortion, pro-amnesty, and pro-cap and trade.

I don't see why you want to help Obama by splitting the vote.

Why do you want to support a leftist Republican who's going to basically reach across the aisle and give the Dems cover when they pass the rest of their socialism?

I think we’re going to win this one. Winning Obama’s former seat in a state where he’s still popular will be sweet. At the same time, I realize that Mark Kirk’s voting record is easy to dislike.

I agree with you on most of this but why didn’t you support the right candidate in the primary?

Probably because the primary was in early February and the RNC machine already got behind their candidate to the exclusion of other conservative candidates?

Labno is Libertarian, pro-gay marriage, Ron Paul noninterventionist (Obama’s foreign policy – all the danger but without the apologies), and with some confusing jumble on prolife (he’s prolife but killing an unborn child is not properly a moral question … huh? … I know this is true because I debated him on the issue).

There are nearly a dozen Independent or third party candidates running for that Senate seat and all of them deserve to be looked at before any Illinoisan who cares about freedom pulls the lever in November.

Whew.. How in God’s name did the Illinois GOP end up with a scumbag like Mark Kirk for a nominee?
Especially this year.

I agree with you completely. This is one contest the Republicans should lose. I’d rather be stabbed in the face than stabbed in the back.

There are credible theories that he is where he is because the Combine wishes it so. The game is very complex. Blago floated the possibility of Giannoulias being switched out for (gulp) Rahm Emmanuel. And that might not even be the endgame.

I agree that we should consider all candidates. If Eric Wallace runs, as an independent, I’ll probably vote for him.

Post #17 said it best:

"Kirk is not even a RINO. He is a fire-breathing, flaming socialist who is more socialist than most Democrats. He is a disgrace to the Republican Party and I am praying he doesn't win".

If freepers want to support a "Republican" who is to the LEFT of Hitlery Clinton on abortion and other issues, be my guest. I am tired of being told by elitist freepers in so-called "red states" that they can sit home and throw a temper tantrum hoping the Democrat will win if their GOP Senator is not perfect, but here in Illinois we "have to" elect a marxist DIABLO because that's "the best we can get". It's B.S. The idea that Kirk "had to" support partial birth abortion, cap n' treason, gay marriage, etc., to "win" because his district voted for Obama has been proven false. Note that DEMOCRAT Congressman Dan Lipinski is in a much more pro-Obama and Democrat-heavy district, and he's NEVER "had to" grovel before NARAL and the Sierra Club and get their endorsement by running to the left of an Obama clone. In fact, Lipinski routinely votes pro-life, pro-family, pro-WOT, and anti-illegal, and continues to not only win in November handily but beat "more progressive" Democrats in the primary.

Kirk is a socialist because he likes being a socialist. If Kirk's voting record is acceptable, we might as well re-elect a dozen or so blue-dog Pelosi RATs. The GOP is a big tent but not big enough so far-left socialists are included in it.

I predicted all throughout the primary that Kirk's newfound chest-thumbing "opposition" to Obamacare was just to get him votes and he would betray us on the issue after he got the GOP nomination. The Kirk apologists insisted otherwise and claimed Kirk had genuinely "learned his lesson" after betraying us on cap n' trade and this time he really was adamantly against Obamacare and would indeed "lead the fight" to overturn it as he "pledged" to the Club for Growth. Just last week, Kirk backtracked on his "pledge" and said Obamacare is now the law of the land for the foreseeable future and his job to educate voters about the good parts of it.

Kirk is a contemptible, treasonous, lying, left-wing SOB and if the next Jim Jeffords in training. If we don't stop him now, we will pay for it down the road. Mark my words. Alexi the Chicago machine thug cannot possibly do as much damage as Kirk will do when he makes Obama's marxist agenda "bipartisan"

I love old Boston Blackie movies.

Illinois politics is one long-running movie.

>> You are insane if you think a non-criminal can win there <<

You will be eating your words in November when CONSERVATIVE State Senator Bill Brady is elected Governor. By the way, he's polling much better than socialist Mark Kirk. Brady is ahead of the incumbent Democrat governor by double-digits. So much for the myth that marxists are "the best we can get' in Illinois.

“Kirk is not my ideal candidate, but he has gotta be better than the socialists coming out of the democrap party there.”

I agree. I think most every Freeper would tell you this Kirk is ideologically less than desirable - but there is really only one vote that counts.

And that’s the vote for Majority Leader.

Boston Blackie Movie Series: Over a span of nine years, Chester Morris starred in fourteen films as a former thief now on the right side of the law. He brought to the role a delightful offhand manner and sense of humor and got to pursue his hobby—performing magic—in a couple of episodes.

From Meet Boston Blackie (1941) to Boston Blackie’s Chinese Venture (1949), Morris played Blackie.

Regulars included Richard Lane as a frustrated police detective; George E. Stone as Blackie’s talkative, dim-witted buddy; and Lloyd Corrigan as a dizzy millionaire pal. SOURCE Leonard Maltin’s Movie Guide

I can’t cheer about this in the least. Kirk is execrable. A total Combiner puppet.
