“Slavery is a crime against Freedom!”

Yes, it is. And every other civilized nation that practiced it managed to end it without a war costing so many lives.

“Thank God, For Lincoln!”

Who was quite willing to allow the South to continue their practice of slavery if they would only give up the idea of seccession.

“Get Real, The Civil War Is Over!”

Get real, learn when exclamation points are appropriate, and learn some *real* history.

Just to get you started, here’s something from H. L. Mencken.

“The Gettysburg speech was at once the shortest and the most famous oration in American history...the highest emotion reduced to a few poetical phrases. Lincoln himself never even remotely approached it. It is genuinely stupendous. But let us not forget that it is poetry, not logic; beauty, not sense. Think of the argument in it. Put it into the cold words of everyday. The doctrine is simply this: that the Union soldiers who died at Gettysburg sacrificed their lives to the cause of self-determination—that government of the people, by the people, for the people, should not perish from the earth. It is difficult to imagine anything more untrue. The Union soldiers in the battle actually fought against self-determination; it was the Confederates who fought for the right of their people to govern themselves.”

Still nothing but kind words for McCain, though.

Listen its was GOD'S will that slavery was defeated. The South reaped what it sowed. I'm sorry, but the south should not have succeeded, but that would not have have stopped slavery for a long time. Being so evil and all!

The Republican Party was formed to stop Slavery, maybe your in the wrong website.

That why the south hated Lincoln!

And we the people of the USA are still paying for the sin of slavery today, by the mentality of the blacks still being a victims today, ala black crime, welfare, reparations, voting lock stop and barrel for the liberals, and more!

The greatest injustice of the war are the wounded and dead of the North, but where would history be without the USA, WORLD WAR II, etc.

By the way, get over it, get "REAL"! The war is "OVER", for about nearly 146 years!

“Listen its was GOD’S will that slavery was defeated.”

Almost certainly, but I am far from certain that it was His will that so many men die in a war that was mainly about other things.

“The South reaped what it sowed. I’m sorry, but the south should not have succeeded”

The southern states had every right to seceed. Lincoln had none to use force to stop them.

“but that would not have have stopped slavery for a long time.”

Nonsense. Slavery would have withered and died in about another decade, and many tens of thousands of men need not have suffered and died.

“Being so evil and all!”

I suspect you’re just pulling my chain with that one. If I thought you were serious, I’d have to comment on the immensity of the ignorance required to allow such a comment.

“The Republican Party was formed to stop Slavery, maybe your in the wrong website.”

Oh, right, anybody who wants their history straight and honest supports slavery.

Get a mind.

“That why the south hated Lincoln!”

It seems that everything you know on the subject is wrong. I’ll bet you even think the Civil War was fought to end slavery.

“And we the people of the USA are still paying for the sin of slavery today, by the mentality of the blacks still being a victims today, ala black crime, welfare, reparations, voting lock stop and barrel for the liberals, and more!”

Bad, bad, bad theology. “Let not the sins of the fathers be visited upon the sons.”

No American now living (criminal exceptions noted) has committed the sin of slavery.

We are not “paying” for anything; we are suffering the effects of hatred kept fresh by black leadership, with the support and guidance of our communist enemies.

“The greatest injustice of the war are the wounded and dead of the North”

Really? So, God has empowered you to judge the value of each human’s life—and death?

“By the way, get over it, get “REAL”! The war is “OVER”, for about nearly 146 years!”

Are you used to hanging around with people who fall for crap like that? Nothing that I have said or implied justifies that insult. It’s nothing more than meaningless mudslinging.

On the other hand, nothing that you have said or implied creates the slightest suspicion that you have the least scintilla of knowledge or understanding of the causes and results of that war.

I don’t intend to continue this discussion, because you need to read between ten and fifteen long and substantial books before you would be even remotely entitled to an opinion on the subject.
