“I also thank Mr. Rangel for voluntarily stepping down because if our party had to take any action against him, the entire black voting population would be angry.”

(The difference between a humanist and a Satanist is that the latter knows who he’s working for.)

That, sir, is one of the best phrases I’ve seen in a long, long time!

I still don’t see how this changes anything. I guess I would have to be a democrat to understand the “logic” in this case.

Are there any examples in history that can be compared to this instance?

Did the CEO of Enron take a leave of absence? I know Patrick Kennedy has checked himself into rehab a couple of times.

Do the democrats really think this going to help their cause?

Rangle is a crook and an embarassement to the country and everyone in Congress and the United States knows it. If the black population doesn’t like his removal, so be it. Those in Congress that don’t remove him, cancel all his benefits, stop his pay, should also be removed from office.

Question.....Does Rangle receive full pay while on leave? If he does, it’s another slap in the face of the people.

“a leave of absence from his duties and responsibilities as Chairman of the Committee “

So,,,, Is he still on the Committee, just not acting as Chairman?

"if our party had to take any action against him, the entire black voting population would be angry"

That's right; you effectively admit that YOUR Party panders for black votes with whatever means is necessary, including Affirmative Action, ACLU discrimination suits, quotas, welfare and food stamp handouts, and promised "FREE Medical Care" that you soon will shove up our asses....

YOUR Party is raping all wage-earning Americans to stuff the pockets of your constituency.

I read it as he is still Chairman, but is on a leave of absence until a later time when the news cycle moves on.

Then the spin will be, “we have been through all of that before, its old news and was examined and resolved weeks ago

"I commend Chairman Rangel for his decades of leadership on jobs, health care, and the most significant economic issues of the day."

Rangel's most significant economic issue was pocketing a million dollars in illegal cash.

We would be in jail or buried with penalties and fines but Rangel gets to voluntarily step down. There really is two Americas.
