NEW YORK (Associated Press) -- Less than a week after declaring he would seek a full four-year term, New York Gov. David Paterson abruptly dropped his election bid Friday under pressure from fellow Democrats concerned about his faltering agenda and his handling of a domestic abuse case involving a trusted aide.
Paterson cited a litany of distractions that prompted him to end his campaign, but said he had never abused his office.

I have never seen such a doofus as a governor of a state. Cuomo is a dishonest, hideous human being and maybe that is what New York will get, but this guy certainly had to go.
Maybe they can get Obama do to the same thing.

NY people have been wanting the return of a Cuomo for many years now. They can’t wait!

New York Gov. David Paterson dropped out because the guy that wants to replace him was investigating him? There is no doubt that Paterson is a scumbag, but it doesn’t make sense for an A.G. running for the office of person he is investigating to be able to force him to resign. You can bet, Cuomo said, resign or jail. Now that Paterson resigned the investigation will be whitewashed and Paterson will walk.
Go ahead and hold your hand up like you are swearing an oath. I bet your hand is standing tall - fingers together and thumb close and tight! Do it! I told you so.
I have never seen a limp hand like he had when he held it up to swear his innocence.
Obama and his thugs didn’t want him to run again (why?) and why all the sudden does this come to light? Wonder if someone from the Chicago gang paid the woman to call Peterson and then leaked it to the newspaper. Didn’t Obama and his cohorts do something about his competitor in the Senate race and divorce papers?
There can only be one H_IC period.

Too bad. Andrew “Evil Eyes” Cuomo, son of Mario “The Gargoyle” Cuomo, has a better chance of winning.
No one ever lays the blame to this disaster of a human being where it belongs- if incredibly stupid H*RD*N Spitzer hadn’t of been such an insouciant moron none of this would have ever come into play- on the other hand, we ARE rid of Spitzer, and now, thankfully, his rotten spawn Paterson.
