I think Canada is doing just swell, but I still hope we beat them to the Gold at Hockey. If we don't, I'll cheer for the Canucks over those potato-headed Russians.
Plus, America is just clobbering suckas all over the globe in the medals count.
Canada is not a real country..
Mr. Morrissey can't seem to get past that reflexive reference to the United States, even in a piece glorifiying a new-found sense of Canadian national pride and patriotism.
Me, too indeed.
“Am I the only one on this planet who hasnt watched the Olympics? “
No, me too....I stopped watching a long time ago when it became obvious that a lot of them are juicing. Same for pro-sports, though I do admit to watching a couple of Redskins games on TV a year - They obviously need better steroids if they are going to compete.
Morrissey from The Smiths? That whining ass punk? Please. He has thugs for hire at his show beating up his own fans if they get too close to him.
“Jesus...if the Canadians want to beat their drum, let them for Gods sake, I say.”
I don’t think I really want to take advice from someone who so willingly insulted the Lord twice in one sentence.
Perhaps you should put a little ice on that.
There was NOTHING untoward or out of place in what PM Harper said. He could have been referring to any number of nations, or even regional rivalries for heaven’s sake!
That YOU have an issue or hyper-sensitivity to an imaginary slight says a whole lot more about you than it does about a speech in a provincial legislature (the same as a state house, for those in Rio Linda) to a group of Canadian politicians.
Sheesh.
Perhaps you should learn to read, sucker, or sober up before you post.
...Am I the only one on this planet who hasnt watched the Olympics?...
No.
I doubt that was even a reference to us as much as Europe but again, who knows ...
I'm sure Harper didn't want to hurt the North Korean people by naming them. ;-)
BTW, a couple of the South Koreans seem to acting like jags in the Olympics.
Yep. That's what all the liberals say.
I have a friend who was in Vancouver last week. In bars with the TVs turned to the games, she said Americans were roundly booed by the patrons.
Jags?
I haven’t watched them either. As far as bashing the U.S. goes , it’s just jealousy!
Interesting Morrissey is so self-absorbed and historically illiterate that he imagined Harper’s comments directed at the US. And that from CHICAGO .. just imagine if they had gotten the ‘16 Summer Olympics. Nationalism and Cityism all wrapped up in one arrogant piece.
I think it’s great the Canadians are enjoying a new-found national pride. They have let the loudmouthed left in their country frame who Canadians are for too long now. Just like we are doing.
