With the tension brewing between the Tea Party movement and the Progessive/statist RINOs, and given the fact that out best chances may require working for change within the GOP, I would like to hear the ideas of fellow FReepers in the form of four proposed federal-level planks for the GOP.
I'll offer mine, based on my limited understanding of the original intent of our Founding Fathers, and how that might fit with our current mess, but I'm hoping to hear the thoughts of greater minds and deeper thinkers here. Thanks.
Top Four Federal-level Planks for the Republican Party
1. Fiscal - Flat Tax. Abolish all other federal taxes. Balanced Budget Amendment. Abolish the Federal Reserve. Gold Standard.
2. Security - Declared wars only, and only if fought to complete and unconditional surrender of the entities involved. Borders and ports of entry tightly secured. Immigration and visitation tightly controlled. Constitutional rights limited to citizens. Quit the United Nations, and remove them from our soil. Enter no treaties limiting the freedoms or sovereignty of our citizens.
3. Corruption - Strict term limits and recycle laws on elected federal officials. Abolish federal-level lobbying. Strict limits on Executive Orders & “Czars”. Cabinets/Departments returned to Constitutional limits (Four). No separate laws or privileges, and no unions, for federal government servants. Limit extra-military federal employees to 0.1-0.2% of voting age citizens. Mandate strict voter ID enforcement to all states for federal elections. Eliminate special tax status and federal grants or awards for foundations and NGOs. Reign in the activist and tyrannical tendencies of the federal judiciary.
4. Cultural - English as official language.
Everything else is left to the states, the private sector, and We the People.
Life, Liberty, Constitution, Security.
Lawful residents and visitors.
1. Protect human life from conception to natural death. This is foundational in any truly healthy society.

close the borders.
put people in jail that hire immigrants.
repeal all unconstitutional laws.

1. Uphold the Constitution.
2. Flat tax system — a simple and fair one any idiot can understand. All federal tax revenue comes from this flat tax system — no hidden taxes or taxes added onto phone bills, etc.
3. No unions or special perks for government employees, including elected officials.
4. Balanced budget.
And may I add a few that are very important to me:

Keep God in public view
integrity in our elected officials (they are all lying thieves, in my view)

Illegal aliens — replace my #1 with deport illegal aliens and fix it so that merely being born in the U.S. doesn’t give one citizenship or any right to live here.
Repeal the stimulus. Cut 10% of all non-defense federal employees the first year. Repeat until non-defense federal employment < 10% of current level.
Constitutional amendment that any money transferred to states or localities must be without strings and otherwise within one of the enumerated powers. Give citizens the right to sue and get attorney’s fees if they win to enforce this.
Reenact the commerce clause with a, “This time, we really mean it.” Give citizens the right to sue and get attorney’s fees if they win to enforce this.
Sell 95% of the land owned by the US government to private owners and use the proceed to pay down the national debt.
Federal TABOR amendment, with an exception of war. Give citizens the right to sue and get attorney’s fees if they win to enforce this.
Immediate defunding of Government agencies that have usurped State Rights and have become politicized. (EPA)
Remove all enforcement arms from Fed Agencies other than those required for National Security and Domestic Security.

3. ban Lobbyist in Congress!
4. Build Wall on southern Border complete distance!
5. All bills will stand on their own, no riders!
6. Cut Congress pay 20% cut their pay every year that they go over budget!
7. Ban Federal mandates to states!
8. Kill the stimulus bill!
National Security and Defense
States’ Rights and State Defense
Individual Rights and Indvidual Defense (BOR)
Turn all non-national defense programs over to the States.
#1 Repeal the 17th Amendment
#2 Ban Excitative Orders
#3 Require Congress to show where Legislation is authorized in the Constitution
#4 Increase the size of the House of Representative to one representative per every 300,000 Citizens
Term limits
Abolish income and estate/gift taxes
Abolish racist & sexist “affirmative action” “diversity” preferences and quotas programs
Substantially limit immigration/deport all illegals
