Dubai police chief Dahi Khalfan Tamim said he is 99 percent sure Israel was involved in the January killing of a Hamas commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh at a Dubai luxury hotel, according to a report published Thursday in an Emirati newspaper.
"Our investigations reveal that Mossad is involved in the murder of al-Mabhouh. It is 99 percent, if not 100 percent, that Mossad is standing behind the murder," Tamim told The National newspaper.
Haaretz earlier Thursday learned the identities of two Palestinians arrested in Jordan in connection with the January 20 killing at a Dubai hotel.
Ahmad Hasnin, a Palestinian intelligence operative, and Anwar Shekhaiber, an employee of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, were arrested in the Jordanian capital Amman.

It’s not 1974 anymore. That was 36 years ago. Pre CCTV, cell phone, computer name searches, pre 9/11 al Qaeda watch lists. Co-operation by security services world wide has never been better, faster. All travel records, customs is near nigh instantaneous.
Everyone, everywhere in the modern world leaves an immense track. You might as well be traveling with an elephant. Further, those individuals will have credit, and other records, years deep, but false.
Also, If you, say, have an ID, but no record, that is like a magnesium flair for the database software.
You do something in a swank hotel in a small one capital state, that brings attention, the police are there, armed in minutes or less.
This isn’t an era of cracking off a bunch of .22’s in some youth hostel in Goatbutt hill town in Norway a generation and a half ago.

Well, who do you think it is/was? If people are traveling with an elephant, then these people would have been caught already.
I was talking about the information track everyone leaves. You don’t put on a false mustache and eat iodine to change your disguise anymore.
You go as you are. Naturally. It is just your plastic ID that has to cover you. You then have two levels. One that will reveal, upon international query, who you are. And another level that is years in the making, to include years of bank accounts, credit histories, drivers license complete with infractions and so on.
Why would Israel not want it out that they did this? Yet, that no one can ‘prove’ it? It is a good enough message to the rest of their targets. In fact, it is critical that it does, to an extent, ‘get out’. That everyone, world wide, can see that in a very security intensive environment, in a small, close city state, they can move a nice, big, fat team in and get you.
Think about it.
I can't imagine Mossad ever messing up a forged passport in the way I heard depicted, on some radio report about this.
I also can't believe that Mossad would use forged passports of British Jews who've made aliyah and are living in Israel; I heard one interviewed on the radio, and he spoke of the terror of realizing that HIS PHOTOGRAPH is being shown all over the planet as one of the assassins, but in reality he is a middle aged 50+ older guy whose had triple bypass heart surgery ---- NOT spook spy material, ya know???
