It’s like Rush has always said - - just let Democrats be Democrats, and the people will notice and the people will get rid of them like flushing turds down the toilet. I’m paraphrasing.

since when does anyone on FR need to read an article to comment on it? (kidding)

LOL Good one. I like John Fund so I wanted to see what all he had to say. Really wasn't much new when I finally found the article.

Bayh's problem is that he is denail about Obama, just as many libs are. Bayh wants to throw Congress under the bus as the reason he's not running for re-election, but say he's supporting Obama's agenda at the same time. Well, you can't have it both ways. The Congress WAS pushing Obama's agenda. "Don't waste a crisis" is what Rahm ItWell is famous for saying. "The Time is NOW" bellowed Obama. Remember all of the deadlines Obama put on health care? He wanted it done in July, August, September, etc. He told democrats to "punch back twice as hard!" at the town hall meetings. Yet, Bayh wants to act like Obama was an innocent bystander while Congressional democrats rushed things. What a puke! Obama could have called off the dogs any time he wanted, but he never has. Either Obama wants the big rush of socialism OR he's afraid of Nancy Pelosi. Either way, he doesn't deserve Bayh's respect and praise, yet he still gets it. Bayh's comments just don't "jive". He supposedly called Obama to tell him he was not going to run again, and Obama tried repeatedly to talk him out of it. If that's true and Bayh gave Obama the same line he's giving us, that means Bayh told Obama that there was too much partisanship in Congress and that liberals were going too far too fast. And if Obama tried to talk him out of not running, what could Obama say to alleviate his fears? He would have to have told Bayh that he (Obama) would be more bi-partisan and would slow down on the agenda. Yet, Bayh STILL is going to quit. He obviously doesn't believe Obama can or will do that, so why support him if he's weak or a liar?

The more I hear and see Bayh, the more he makes me sick to my stomach. The problem is OBAMA, period, yet Bayh casts blame everywhere BUT on Obama. I guess we finally found a guy in DC that is more of a pantywaist than BHO. Bye-bye, Miss Bayh. Be sure and pack all of your skirts on your way back to Indiana.

If Bayh runs for Pres., will there be anyone criticizing him for being a “quitter”?

Of course not. The media will call him a tea-party-rat. In fact, we should be watchful of that possibility.

I think Bayh is old school Democrat - you know, the Democrat of our parents/grandparents. Back then, Democrats stood for the working man, not for government unions, trial lawyers, grievance groups and truckloads of dead babies.

Then, why did he vote for all those things?

Have you seen the new Sherlock Holmes movie? All these Democrats who are retiring remind me of the scene where a group of British parliament members have to pledge their allegiance to their evil leader, Lord Blackwood. Those that refuse are to be killed, right along with all the other members of Parliament, thus giving complete control to Blackwood. Could Obama be requiring some type of personal loyalty from the Dems, and those who refuse are encouraged to retire/resign?

“Every 14 or 16 years we seem to have to relearn this lesson”...

So, Bayh hadn’t learned the lesson when he voted against Roberts and Alioto, and for Porkulus and Obamacare, but he just learned it now?

He counted on us being stupid.

After Jimmy Carter won the White House, Ronald Reagan assembled a group of his former aides in Los Angeles in early 1977 for a pep talk about how the GOP loss would only be temporary if they learned from the party's mistakes and returned to first principles.

What is really important about this is the fact that Ronald Reagan won because he believed that our founding principles - life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were paramount.

Life being the right to life for every person.

Liberty being the ability to live your life unshackled by governmental burden.

And, the most misunderstood one of them all, the ability to pursue happiness defined by our Founders as the pursuit of a virtuous life which produces happiness.

Ronald Reagan understood this unique American dynamic very well. He knew that America stands the tallest and the strongest on two strong legs. One leg that supports the dignity of life, and the other leg which supports an economic system which allows for us to live an unshackled life.

So, for all the ninnies out in the hinterlands who think that you don't need the social conservatives YOU ARE DEAD WRONG.

Ronald Reagan won two landslides because he stood strong on two legs supported by the people and the Constitution.

If the wacko feminist doesn’t get enough signatures, them the IN Dem Party gets to pick someone. There will be no primary, no bashing each other, or $$ spent fighting one another.

just like the GOP in NY23

The American Conservative Union gives Bayh a lifetime rating of 20.7. That is low enough to be considered a Left wing liberal. To put his score in perspective, Harry Reid has a lifetime rating of 18.96.
