I saw something really sad a couple of weeks ago. A clean-cut guy in his 30's hustling around at a freeway onramp selling bottles of water for $1.00 each. He had a sign next to a few cases of water that said "Just laid off, need work." He was personable and seemed to be selling quite a bit of water. I offered him $2.00 and he insisted that I take 2 bottles!

When people like this can't find work, we're in trouble.

The "stimulus" does not stimulate those who know they will have to pay for it.
That's why gov't handouts will never work.
At best we get a short blip followed by a larger negative blip. Example: Cash for Clunkers.

Yeah, under Bush the economy was broken - sure. 5 percent unemployment for years. Under Bush - the Democrats took Congress and the economy immediately nose dived.

Bush tried to reform Fannie and Freddie but got blocked. Bush tried to have a good energy policy but got blocked. Bush tried to reform Social Security but got blocked.

I’m a tea-partier and I’ll spit on big-government with you, but Bush’s “broken economy” was a paper cut on a finger, Obambi’s socialized mess is a bleeding femoral artery.

This stimulus is little different than FDRs WPA and CCC programs that provided temporary government make work jobs, but did nothing to stimulate the economy. New studies have shown that the Great Depression was lengthened by these make work jobs projects as they produced nothing economically.

That man will be just fine. He is on the right track. I’ve come to the realization that I had to find a product that is selling well, and “get in front of it”. Working out well for me. He may well make more money than you or I by selling water. Smart dude.

What’s exciting is that southern Minnesotans can benefit greatly from this strategy. Experts say more than 90 percent of the jobs created will be in the private sector.” added Walz.

Just asking...are these by any chance the same experts who have been suprised by the Unexpected IncreasesTM in the unemployment numbers, month after month, for the past year?

Cheers!

“Obambi’s socialized mess is a bleeding femoral artery.”

0bama and the Demo-fasci-communists are bleeding the US out. THEN comes the ‘trickle up’ economy. This is intentional. They’ve gone for the jugular and they know it.

We might as well be tribal natives in Tahiti with Mr. Christian: simple, no money, scanty clothes, lovingly innocent and ‘dumb’ with ‘our betters’ ‘doing right’ by ......

By us? We think that of them? They’ll flog and scourge us for our hard work, and keel haul us for dissent.

0bama, Reid, Pelosi, Biden, Clinton....they’re totalitarians who think we should crawl on our bellies with bowls of gold in tribute to them, in exchange for which they’ll hand out government cheese and other boons or wampum.

We may as well answer Native American on the census. Great Black Father speak with forked tongue. This land will not be ours “for as long as the wind blows and the grass grows” when the government can take it by eminent domain, in satisfaction of debts owed to foreign, criminal or corrupt interests.

Yes, I know you’re right but I kind of got a lump in my throat anyway. I do hope he was able to find work quickly. He seemed like a sweet man and a hard worker.

They (dems) are trying to create a command economy where decisions come from above (like the Soviet Union). Success for them will be to undo capitalism where money flows to those who produce- not those who make up their dependent voter base.

They must think they have the numbers to pull it off 'else they wouldn't have spent a year (failing) selling socialized medicine. The Soviets had commisars, we just have commie czars.

Yep, yet another poor man about 45 yrs old, I’ve meet is seeking a disability pension for a back problem, sorry, but I’d think most all of us could qualify for that, I think more like he can’t find work and thinks this is that way out. His life quality will be more impoverished trying to live on that

Direct, and to the point is just what I wanted. I know lots of folks I cited here do have responsibility in their situations, but even at that, I can’t help but be heartbroken when Democrats knew better than to try failed economic ideas while lying about to Americans, and now we have a huge unemployment mess

It may not be the best polished work you can do, but it got the point across. Too many people are suffering while our democratic leaders have gorged themselves in an orgy like fashion of the public trust.

It is disgusting that they lied to the American people as shamelessly as they have. They have had no remorse for the millions that they have left jobless, homeless and struggling.

All it seems now is, that they are back peddling as fast as they can to save their own skins in November. Still not caring one damn about the people that they have screwed.

The media is no better. People like Olberman, Maddows and Matthews should be exiled to wallow in the poverty they have sold America on.
