SEATTLE – Three unarmed security guards stood by and watched last month as a 15-year-old girl was punched, knocked to the ground, kicked in the head and robbed in a downtown Seattle bus tunnel. The guards' actions during the brutal attack — captured on surveillance video — have prompted a review of the policy that unarmed, civilian guards call police and not try to stop fights or crimes.
Surveillance video first aired by Seattle's KING-TV this week shows the attack at Westlake Station on Jan. 28. The victim appears several seconds before her attackers and sidles up to the three guards, who are standing together and talking.
When a group of teens and young adults approaches the girl, she appears to seek refuge by moving around to the other side of the guards.
Another 15-year-old girl shoves the victim and begins punching her. The two crash into a wall and then onto the floor. The assailant gets up and kicks and stomps on the girl's head. Others grab her purse, iPod and cell phone.

So..guards..is not really in their job description. Perhaps..Phone holders..more apply describes their duties.
Typical liberal-land “guards”, cowards all, regardless of “policy”. I’d own a piece of those “guards” and their company if that were my daughter. We have become a nation of pansies.

I can save the city some money. Fire all the security guards in the system. They were apparently there to present an illusion of security but that illusion is gone and its a waste of money to continue paying for it.
It’s not just the security guards. Remember the Seattle Mardis Gras race riots a few years back? Seattle police were ordered to stand by and do nothing as about 100 black rioters beat the hell out of anyone they could get their hands on, successfully killing a young man while they were at it. Former Seattle Police Chief (and now Obama Drug Czar) Gil Kerlikowske will forever have Christopher Kime’s blood on his hands.
Nah. Over here in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho, we can handle the muzzies just fine.
In Seattle, a group of gang bangers had harassed a couple of Ft. Lewis soldiers one weekend. The following weekend, and for the next couple of months or so, Rangers from Lewis began patrolling the streets of Seattle, a sort of informal Guardian Angels. When some smart-assed TV reporter asked one of them what made them any different from the gang slime, he replied "We're Rangers...we hit our targets!"
It may be time for our best and toughest to start patrolling the streets again.

Exactly. If it hadn't been for that illusion of security, the victim could have had a 20-second head start and run the hell away from her attackers. Instead she waited by the guards, not realizing that they were only there to pass the popcorn as her head got stomped in.
If that’s all that they are going to do, fire the security guards and hire someone to watch the surveillance video. If they see an incident, they can call the police.
What they are currently doing is a fraud, giving the public the false impression that they are actually providing security.
And yet another reason I’m moving to Kentucky from Seattle.
