IRVING – Gov. Rick Perry tried to shore up his border security credentials Monday as he campaigned for re-election by calling for a Predator drone at the Texas-Mexico border and highlighting a transnational gang initiative.

Perry, a Republican seeking his third full term as governor, said he has asked the Defense Department to deploy an unarmed drone to the Texas border to assist in border security and provide "real-time" data. "Why not fly them from Brownsville to El Paso?" Perry said in remarks at the Irving Police Association Hall.

He always talks a good game at election time.

He may not be great but he is consistent.
Best option of the three, in my opinion.

Expensive flying cameras, instead of a fence?

It was the feds/homeland security that killed the Texas border fence.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2009-10-09-texas-border-fence-nixed_N.htm

The part Perry got involved in was the eminent domains who didn’t want to give up their land for the fence. I seem to recall a while back we had people all up in arms about land seizures.

I wouldn’t be surprised if I find you posting a few years back supporting blocking of eminent domain seizures.

No, it was KBH that inserted language into a different bill that gave DHS the option of doing whatever they wanted instead of following the CLEAR, direct requirements enumerated in the SFA. And Mitt Perry was cheering her on.

Them’s the FACTS.

Eminent domain is perfectly acceptable and necessary to build a border fence. Of Course, Mitt Perry was happy to build the Illegal Alien Expressway with eminent domain

CBP Air and Marine division has had Predator drones on the Arizona border for several years. No reason why they couldn’t extend the program to Texas. The trick will be getting the funding for them.

Perry was one of the four border governors who were all for McCain’s Amnesty bill in 2007.
Unfortunately, Hutchinson is not much better, having proposed her own amnesty lite bills.

Only an idiot would believe Rick Perry wants tougher border security.

Perry is a Liberal Bed-Wetting Open Borders Anti-American Globalist....he was the one who pushed the NAFTA Superhighway and the Trans Texas Corridor....which would have blown the door wide open on the US-Mexican border. If not for Texans protesting en masse over the deal (which was beginning to seize land from Texas landowners to build the TTC and NAFTA Superhighway).

I just hope Texan voters are much more smarter than the “I didnt vote for McCain, I voted for Sarah Palin” crowd.

Rick Perry is to Secure Borders....like Al Gore is to Climatology accuracy.....

Perry plan to arm the drones that will also fly over, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin and throughout the sate with doses of HPV vaccine which will be fired at all adolescent girls in Texas.

Kids already get vaccinated sixteen ways to Sunday.

Which of those vaccinations do you oppose?
