The Little Tea Party That Could and DID!
Whoever thought that two political neophytes from a small mountain community could charge into 2010 with 120 patriots by their sides, candidates clamoring for their time, and the confidence that they are making a difference??
Join us for a highly interactive seminar where innovative ideas are this movements frontrunners!
In this seminar, you will learn to:
- Establish a tea party organization on a shoestring budget, including setting up a Meetup site, establishing an internet presence, and bypassing the media to get your message out to the public
- Recruit and engage members
- Build coalitions with like-minded organizations to form a state-wide army of patriots
Introduction
My name is Lori Christenson, and I am the organizer for the Evergreen/Conifer Tea Party in Evergreen, Colorado. Like many of you, I had never had any political interest other than voting my party line. I felt well informed because I read up on the issues and even discussed them at the dinner table. Then something changed, and I found myself at the April 15th Tea Party in Denver. I knew I couldnt let the momentum die, yet I didnt want to drive all the way to Denver, 45 minutes away, to be involved. Therefore, my husband and I started the Evergreen/Conifer Tea Party.
I had one advantage in that I was a corporate trainer in my past life, and my organizational skills were good. I could stand up in front of people to talk without a problem. I could find my way around a computer, although I couldnt imagine at that time that tweeting and facebooking were about to become verbs. My husband was as interested as I, so together we put together a Meetup page, and lo and behold, they started coming.
After just seven months, we have 100 members, with a monthly average increase of 42% since inception. We have been integral in developing a statewide coalition with like-minded groups and have also worked with leaders from several national organizations to further the goals of the movement.

I liked the Tea-Party movement better when it was just everyday people, now looks like they are lawyering up and the movement being hi-jacked by organization. Initially I had the same thought, but if we don't organize to some extent we will flail around and get nothing accomplished.
I have come to the conclusion that we are involved in a war...a war to reclaim our nation. In war you need allies. Even if you don't agree with them entirely, their overall goal is closer to yours than the opposition.
For example, Scott Brown is actually a fairly liberal republican, but considering the environment he is running in, his win was huge, and he mostly agrees with us.
That being said...McCain HAS TO GO!
Scott Brown and Sarah Palin working for McCain is really pissing me off! It's time for the oldest farts to go.

This was the convention Michelle Bachman, Marsha Blackburn, and others dropped out of because of the sense that it was just another entrepreneurial hijacking of the movement-—get big crowds, big speakers, etc. together in one place, and you can expect big revenue. Ripe for the skimming. The
guy who founded/organized this, Judson Phillips, was setting up rather hefty fees to be allowed into the inner circle, and get face time with some of these speakers. One of the fees I saw was $569.00
In DC, this is EXACTLY what the sleazeballs we’re trying to get rid of, do and have done, and will continue to do.It’s always explained as merely a form of fundraising, and in this case , I assure you, like the others, it’s primarily going into the pockets of these self-appointed ‘leaders’.
Except for Sarah Palin, there’s nary a one who has much to say to the rank and file Tea Party movement, and I frankly am embarrassed to find Palin didn’t drop out like Michelle B. She will pay for this, I think, in a lack of credibility, even if she gives her speaking fee (over 100K) back to “the cause”.And I’m suprised also that Breitbart would be part of this crap.

I'm surprised you are part of this crap that is Free Republic
Your post is full of liberal leftist anti-tea party talking points.
I'm not going to even try to straighten you out, you know full well that what you are saying is full of lies and untruths.
Either that or you are ignorant and want attention.
You think Brietbart is too dumb to realize he shouldn't be there? Gimme a break leftist.

Oh,and I’ll have you know I have been part of a very active REAL Tea Party group in Rockland COunty New York, for EIGHT MONTHS, which was the very beginning of this ‘movement’, such as it is. We have already forsworn these slick entrepreneurial types at the
Tea Party Nation, and so has the National Precinct Alliance,
which is dedicated to doing the REAL , feet on the ground
political work that is the ONLY thing that will bring about
REAL change at all levels of government.
I would tell you to visit our website, but I have a hunch you’d propagandize for yr. Tea Party Nation cohorts there too.

I’m aware of what is going on.
Also aware that you posted many things that are untrue.
Bachman, wrong
Blackburn, wrong.
TPCon Hijacking of the movement, wrong
Ripe for skimming. Inferring that this is a scam to skim money illegally.
Hefty fees, inner circle. Got a link?
Ever hear of CPAC? Damn their hefty fees, how dare them
Anyone that puts on events and charges for them is a sleazeball?
I assure you, like the others, its primarily going into the pockets of these self-appointed leaders. Proof? If you are going to make statements like that, lets have documentation.
Except for Sarah Palin, theres nary a one who has much to say to the rank and file Tea Party movement. Absurd, but that is your opinion.
Im suprised also that Breitbart would be part of this crap.
I have no doubt he is a lot smarter than you.
He’s a slease ball pocketing money as a “self appointed leader?”
