The White House ordered the Justice Department Thursday night to consider other places to try the 9/11 terror suspects after a wave of opposition to holding the trial in lower Manhattan.

The dramatic turnabout came hours after Mayor Bloomberg said he would "prefer that they did it elsewhere" and then spoke to Attorney General Eric Holder.

"It would be an inconvenience at the least, and probably that's too mild a word for people that live in the neighborhood and businesses in the neighborhood," Bloomberg told reporters.

Hold it at the Illinois prison that will house the scumbags. No reason the people that want it shouldn’t get the full “benefit” of having terrorists in town.

I fully agree with the other posters...send them back to Gitmo.

And, if they absolutely MUST make a civilian trial, it would be a lot cheaper to fly the lawyers down there, than to hold this fiasco in NYC. Gitmo already has the holding cells, it's on a military base so security is not a problem, and NYC doesn't need the expense and aggravation of it.

Whomever thought of this as a civilian matter is a d**khead anyway...they just want a showboat trial to aggrandize our showboat _Resident...the obamaTATOR.

I'm not sure if it can go back to Gitmo and a military tribunal.

Obviously Gitmo is the only place for this trial which should have been over a long time ago. Hussein isn't the only one at fault here. But if he insists on a US location, I would suggest finding a place on Gallows Road just outside DC in Vienna, VA.
