"Stand up, Beau!"
His daddy must know the RATs are cooked in November and advised sonny to sit this one out.

Isn’t he in trouble for some investment company or trust that he was running. I thing that Beau knows that he cannot win with that hanging over his head.

Probably smart, as this is NOT going to be a good year for non-incumbent Demonrats.

Carney is still a strong rat contender but sure. Why settle for Castle?
It’s is great news for the house race if Carney changes races.

This is yet another dividend of the Scott Brown victory last week. Democrats across the country are realizing that with Obama in the White House, there will be no easy sailing come this November. Those Democrats that are not entrenched incumbents are coming to realize that this is just not their year and that they are likely to get crushed in the biggest GOP tsunami since 1994 (and it will likely be bigger than that).
So considering the current climate, they are electing in droves to sit this one out and salvage their reputations for a run in more hospitable times.
Accordingly, the GOP has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make historic gains in this upcoming election cycle. While it is important not to be overconfident, we need to aim high - capturing 100+ seats this November should be the goal. If we come in with a net gain of say, 70-75 seats, hey, we'll take it. But 100+ is absolutely on the table considering we have the most awful and incompetent administration in the nation's history.
Never thought I'd say that after Jimmy Carter but the days of Jimmah are looking mighty good right now in comparison. The economy and political situation hasn't been this morose since 1979. In fact, I am reminded so much of those days that I feel like slipping into a leisure suit, cracking a Billy Beer and cranking up some KC and the Sunshine Band.
Here in Massachusetts, the GOP actually has a decent chance of converting 7 out of 10 house seats and as I type this, local talk radio is abuzz with local Republicans stepping up to challenge the Barney Franks of our rather pathetic congressional delegation. Look for our state to turn even more Brown (i.e. red) this November.

Just possibly the son is a much brighter bulb than his father.
That's not really saying much.

John Carney won’t switch races. It looks like the ‘Rat nominee will be New Castle County Executive Chris Coons, who represents a county of about 500K people.

Charlie Copeland is getting encouragement to run for DE’s House seat. He sounds like a first-tier candidate that would be competitive against Carney (although Carney did beat him in the 2008 Lt. Gov. race with local-boy Biden on the ballot for VP).
