“She should be siding with Medina and Hayworth. Has Hayworth committed yet though?”

If she did this, even if some of them lost in the primaries, she’d support conservatives as she promised and drive the other candidates toward conservative principles, and may even help to effect a few upsets.

But she’s not doing that it appears. Too bad.

She should and will. I love her and can’t stand McCain but he placed her in the national spotlight and there is a bit of a father/daughter bond. If he did this for me, no matter how far apart we are on ideology I would help him. What I would not do and I know she won’t do is veer from her message and character.

He’s old and it’s always possible he will keel over in the coming year.

“she did NOT initiate this news release”

She sure did. By agreeing to do it. She could have told all involved that she will engage after the primary, or in select cases beforehand.

She endorsed Hoffman or Scozza for Pete’s sake...why this ‘pivot’ - to quote her.

I believe in Sarah Palin. I have no problem considering her a leader. Part of that belief includes giving her latitude to make decisions that I might not make, or might not understand why she is making them. If I can't trust her enough to draw on her experience and leadership to decide for whom she will campaign, then I really don't feel I could trust her at all.

If my trust in her was so thin that I would throw her overboard for feeling an obligation to the person who gave her her big chance at a national political career then it was only a matter of time before she did something else that would destroy my trust in her.

She's my man, and it will take a lot more that we disagree on than this to change my mind. That's not to say my mind can't, or won't be changed, but, IMHO, at this stage of the game, throwing in with John McCain is not enough to make me jettison her.

Again IMHO,John McCain is no longer the man for the job of US Senator, but if his constituents are so undecided that an appearance by Sarah Palin will make them choose him over someone like Hayworth, then so be it.

“Very disappointed. this sucks”

I know a lot of us have supported her, bought her book, followed her commentary...will she disregard the Republican Base also? Wonder what the Tea Party Convention thinks about all this?

The perfect is the enemy of the good, and so is reproaching Palin for the ideological impurity of endorsing McCain.
Politics isn’t entirely about one’s politics. It’s also about leadership and the public perception of one’s character.
Think how she’d be perceived by people who judge character rather than issue politics, if she refused to endorse the man who asked her to be his vice-presidential running mate.

“McAmnesty will be defeated by JD easy.”

What makes that so certain?

He lost his own district.

McCain has incumbency, money, name recognition.

Santorum propped up Spector in 2004. I suspect that won’t happen again? ;0)

Unfortunately, this is how we got into this RINO mess/betrayal to begin with. You have no extraction point or plan. I want to agree with you, but I vociferously disagree with Sarah inserting her into AZ GOP primaries when there’s a conservative like Hayworth with a clean shot. She shouldn’t do that, no matter how much you trust her (still) or how much I want to, or hope she could make a good president someday. She shouldn’t do that.

Exactly. When I read about Sarah’s plans to help John McCain’s campaign, I couldn’t help but see this as a reflection of her noble character. I truly believe that Sarah is honoring a friendship that she values and respects. This says much about her trustworthiness that does not abandon friends for some expedience.

There was one poll showing them close...Honestly, if MA showed anything though, it showed that the people don’t like their WILL messed with. Sarah, and McLame may have to learn this the hard way. Mess with the bull, and you get the horns...

Easy Does it on Sarah. She is as smart as a whip.If she is doing this it is because she has a ticket past the country club republicans into the halls of the party.

Thats where she needs to be. So don't sweat it. Trust Sarah, or are you really a Sarah supporter? Like Mark Levin has said. We can't get rid of all the RINOs right away but we will get rid of the right RINOS anyway!

I do not believe even Sarah has it in her power to save John McCain's candidacy for the Senate. He is toast.Sarah can say she tried. It might be different if McCain would get real on Obama's birth data issue. McCain is still soft peddling it. McCain is a loser who needs retirement for refusing to defend America from these commie parasites in the White House!.Sarah will be just putting grand paw to bed, and she will be doing it nicely with a lot of class.

>> Get over it.

Because personal obligations trump Conservatism.

Palin campaigned for McCain once before - they lost.

This says much about her trustworthiness that does not abandon friends for some expedience.

Also says a lot about the expediency with which she abandons conservative principles.

Good thoughts. I want to track with you. But is it *expedience* to support Conservative principles, or not to insert herself against the will of the people?
