Yeah, I hate that self-righteous stuff.
They should just say, "Ha, I gotcha!"
It would be more honest, no doubt.
Indeed, and it should be followed up with...
"Visa and Mastercard are accepted!"
Some people would complain if they were beat with a new rope.
Even as a shift supervisor, responsible for 12 to 20 cars in the field, I was given a 'performance standard' of 3 movers or one DUI per day.
My wife got a ticket last year for failure to heed a traffic device. It was 10:45 on a weeknight, she was making a right turn, and the officer said she didn’t come to a full stop behind the line.
Since nobody else was around, she didn’t think to argue and figured she’d just get a warning—being ridiculous and all—nope...got a $90 ticket. Since it was the County Sheriff and their office is almost an hour away, we just decided to write the ticket. I put “Legalized Extortion #XXXXXX” on the check’s memo line.
Put them on commission.
“Even if you think that, if the prosecutor cant prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt, you get acquitted.”
Oh please!
You must live in land of make believe.
Here in the real world we are presumed guilty unless we prove ourself innocent when it comes to traffic tickets.
Maybe Texas is different, for all I know.
In much of the U.S. one could park on any street and ticket people making unsignaled left turns across traffic all day long.
You personally are dishonest.
How dare I say that?
The legitimacy of the traffic courts ended when they were disconnected from the jury system, which protects the citizenry from legal “professionals”.
Now, you can try to defend this steaming pile of horse shit all day long, and on a conservative forum that is not going to fly. The abuses are too well documented.
Acquitted when innocent? Aught to be. But often isn't. And you personally are in a position to know that, yet you attempted to gloss over the corruption that has crept into much of the system. Shame on you.
Hell, they gotta pay your wages too, right?
I’m sorry you have such a low opinion of judges and prosecutors. I personally have served with well-principled, ethical, moral men and women who take seriously Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Section 2.21, “The job of a prosecutor is not to convict, but to ensure justice is done”. I consider myself one of them.
Have a good evening.
