President Obama plans to meet with union leaders Monday to discuss their opposition to a proposed tax on high-cost insurance plans, a tax that would pay for his health care overhaul plan, sources told Fox News.
The meeting is expected to include leaders from the AFL-CIO, Service Employees International Union and other labor organizations.
Union officials told The Associated Press that they view the meeting Monday as a chance to forcefully make their case that the tax is bad policy and bad politics. Unions contend that the tax would be passed along to workers.

The other day I heard one of those TV pundit rats claim that the union bosses are such great negotiators that they’ll get what they want.
DUH!!! Seeing how the car companies are bankrupt what do they think will happen?
This is somewhat laughable. All those who were given gifts for their support are now finding empty boxes.
This is where the union bosses sell out their dumbass members.
LOL I for one am not buying that load, I’m a UAW member right now and I can tell you they can’t “negotiate” to save their own butts.

It's all about creating a "new kitty" like SS and Medicare.
I predict an increase in the SS and Medicare rate if the Dems hold onto that "60". And perhaps a third tax...UHC Tax....
So, does Pres. Obama cave or does he screw the unions this time (and, of course, promise he'll shoot a few goodies their way in the near future)? Maybe a wink-wink nod-nod that although it's not in the current bill, it'll be snuck into some other must-pass defense appropriations bill?

heck... wait until the union thugs wake up to find out that their employer health care benefits are going to be taxed...

“Cadillac” health insurance is just simply good insurance.
Obama/Reid/Pelosi have royally screwed the unions.
Meanwhile the only real “Cadillac Coverage” is the personal health insurance of the Obama/Reid/Pelosi regime, which is exempt from a 40% tax.
Don’t the unions own GM and Chrysler? Whats the problem?

Exactly. We need to watch EVERY SINGLE PIECE of legislation..he most certainly will sneak this in when he thinks no one is watching.
Expect some kind of a backroom deal that will exclude union members from this tax.
This Fuhrer resembles the last one.
Union bosses will get a ryder for the congressional health care plan. Everyone else can go eat cake.
