This is 6 years old.
And I don’t even like it when they are several days old.
I had one child graduate from the Moco public school system in 2012.. and would disagree with this analysis, plus it’s dated. My daughter had a stellar education, and was offered multiple scholarships after graduation, as well as having sat so many AP exams, Euro schools assessed her as having the equivalent of a BAC, A levels and an Abitur.
Analyzing SAT results, will show them to be relative to the SES of the pupils and whether they are primary english speakers. The schools that pull the county down have a high percentage of ESL students. The SAT scores of the middle class and upper middle class students have remained very high. In fact, even a rural high school in the boonies: Poolesville high school, which probably has the least diverse population in the county ranked 2 in scores Avg: Reading: 626 Math 651. Howard County, has fewer schools to compare as much of the county is still semi-rural, if you compare the few schools they have that fall into a lower SES results are similar.
