GOP lets Scott Brown fend for himself

GOP U.S. Senate candidate Scott Brown has been all but abandoned by the same national Republican committees that pumped hundreds of thousands in campaign cash to former governors Mitt Romney and William Weld during their long-shot bids for U.S. Senate.

The snub has outraged local Republicans who say national conservatives should be jumping at the chance to nab the first open Senate seat in decades despite Brown’s tough odds in the Jan. 19 special election.

...In 1994, NRSC’s leader, then-Sen. Phil Gramm, vowed an “all out effort,” during Romney’s underdog battle against Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. The national party boosted Romney’s campaign coffers by $540,000 - the legal limit - in so-called coordinated spending.

National GOP committees and big-money donors funneled cash to Weld during his 1996 race against Sen. John Kerry through GOPAC, a political action committee, and wealthy backers of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Weld was also feted that year at a $1,000-a-person GOP gala in Washington, D.C.

Fieldmarshaldj is right - the GOP doesn't want to win elections. They backed Romney and Weld in prior elections - THAT THEY HAD NO CHANCE IN WINNING!!!

THIS ONE CAN BE WON!!!

G-D GOP idiots!

SUPPORT SCOTT BROWN

This is a great post from a poster on Scotts website and certainley reflects my feeling and I’m sure others feel the same way in Ma. and nationaly.

“The deed is done! The obscenity of a healthcare Bill has been rammed through the Senate by Harry Reid using his corrupt strategy of buying votes with our money. It’s an outrage to watch. We must stop watching and act! Clearly if the Senate had 41 Republican votes this attack on our freedom could have been stopped. Yet, the fight is not over. There is a strong possibility that the “Conference” process could be contentious and protracted. Meaning what? This hideous Bill could come back to the Senate AFTER Jan. 19th requiring another 60 vote cloture vote! We in Massachusetts can be there to bring this obscenity down! My challenge to Scott right now is to step out aggressively against this Bill. Make it the poster child for Democrat corruption and political tyranny. Challenge Coakley daily and relentlessly on the damage it will do to all of us ESPECIALLY seniors! Challenge Coakley to justify Harry Reid’s contention that Medicare will get better as they procede to cut $500 Billion from medicare in the next ten years. Make her defend all the sweetheart deals! I call on Scott to summon an emergency public meeting with lots of media attention focused on seniors to explain exactly what is coming at them with this Bill. Use that platform to expose all the other diastrous elements of the Bill and issue a call to voters to give Massachusetts the voice that is missing in the Senate to bring the Reid/Obama assault on our way of life to a halt! Paint Coakley as a Reid puppet. Challenge her to name the programs with which she disagrees with Harry Reid, thus exposing her as nothing but a Reid puppet and Democrat rubber stamp! Focus on Limited government, individual Liberty and above all make no apologies for trumpeting Capitalism over Socialism! This is a national campaign whether we like it or not and it should be run as such. Use the precious time remaining to grab the national microphone. Get on FOX shows like Hannity, O’Reilly or Beck. Tell the country we are prepared to stop Reid in his tracks! For God’s sake look what they are doing to our precious Republic. The clock is about to strike midnight .. are we going to all turn into mice or heros? Our country and its good people are in desparate need of a strong voice for Liberty and freedom...let’s give them one!

And with pride in our national heritage I wish all a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Guy “

Michael Steele is a total failure.

Where are people like Rush, Sean, Ann Coulter?

The entire conservative movement has dropped the ball big time on this...

CAN YOU IMAGINE THE EARTHQUAKE IN THE democRAT party IF THIS SEAT WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM THEM!!!

The Bush/Hasteret/Paulson big gov, big tax GOP supports Obama...no matter what they say. A difference here or there.

RNC, the Official Socialist Committee of the Republican Party.

Who exactly is getting support from the national GOP? Weren't they willing to support Scozzafava (or whatever her name is!)? We're all wishing Scott Brown were more conservative -- mayhap he's too conservative for the national GOP . . .

Solution:

contribute only to the candidate, not the GOP that is run by RINOS

I usually trash them, but this week I got one of those “Issue Surveys”, dutifully filled it out, and on the back (where you’re expected to make a “donation”) I wrote: “$0: Talk is cheap. Not One Single Dime From Me until the RNC grows a spine, and stands up for and funds conservative candidates. No More RINO’s!!!”

The problem with the NRSC and NRCC supporting any candidate who even comes close to supporting the Tea Party movement is unless the candidates are RINO’s, forget it.

Some may fault Glenn Beck for his assertion of both parties are screwing us should take note. His stance is the national organization is screwing us and it has never been so obvious as in the Florida Senate race and the NY23rd. With the exception of a few like DeMint they are all in the game for themselves and could care less for the people who put them there.

Well it has blown up in the faces of the NRSC because now Rubio polls 6 points better (Ras) than their choice, Charlie Crist, against the presumptive Dem, Meek. Additionally, Marco is now tied with Charlie in a Ras poll of likely Repub voters. The primary is in August.

When I received the latest NRSC survey and plead for money, I drew large X’s on all pages of the survey and also included a printout of Marco Rubio’s homepage sealed in their postage paid envelope.

This is not that much different from how Nebraska ended up with Ben Nelson.

Does anyone here have a real email address for Rush/Beck/Hannity/Coulter, etc? They need to see this, ASAP.

Maybe they learned from Dede? Maybe they don’t have the money? Maybe something else? Are they saying what their reasons are? The Dem doesn’t seem all that strong based on what little I know about her, and I’m guessing that these days the Dems aren’t all that popular even in Mass.

When I went to his web site, part of his portion on health care was espousing how great the Mass Health Debacle is.

Evidently this guy things he cannot win without kissing up to the idiots that brought us Mass Health.

He needs to turn this into a single issue election: HIS single vote against the bill. Period. Nothing else matters today. And quite frankly, I will live with his RINO BS afterwards until the next election.

But if he keeps trying to win by placating the middle of the road woosies in this state, he will lose. No question about it. Why vote for a wannabe liberal, when you can vote for Martha and get the real thing. He needs to focus, and focus quickly. But he doesnt want to do that, because his voting record for Mass Health would be used to turn him into a cartoon.

I had higher hopes a few days ago. But this guy is just another MA RINO.

Joe Kennedy is also running as an Independent. It wouldn’t hurt to have lots and lots of Joe Kennedy signs all over the place on election day in extremely strong Democrat areas.

This is the Boston Herald trying to trash the Republican candidate, suggesting he has no chance of winning and building a false “comparison” of support.

Who cares what the Republicans did over a DECADE AGO, when republicans still won statewide elections in Mass?

If the republicans who live in Mass. won’t support their own selected candidate, why should the national party?
