Fred Phelps is going to hell too.
Although I still think there is one too many "a"s in her last name.
No, it is a family cult of about 80, many of them lawyers and Phelps is a democrat politician.

He’s a lawyer, I think. I believe they’re a family of lawyers. Good friends of the Gores from way back when Al was running for POTUS the first time.
This is schtick they’re doing. Anti-Christian theater... a real life Dana Carvey’s “Church Lady”.
And people buy into it.
It would be nice if the inbred Phelps family would drastically reduce their carbon footprint.

There is nothing “reverend” about Fred Phelps. There is essentially NOTHING Christian about Fred Phelps. Fred is an attention-whore.
That being said - Every single translation of the Bible I have read (and I have read SEVERAL - from the 1611 King James through the newer modern translations and paraphrases like the NLT and The Message (hard to call them Bibles...but that is another issue) - ALL of them paint a picture of a GOD who loves His creation - period.
God loves Lady Gaga, God loved Hitler, God loves Obama, God loves you and me. But that doesn’t mean our behavior doesn’t disgust Him. That doesn’t mean he does not HATE the sin. But John 3:16 clearly states the base of this - For God so loved the WORLD, that He gave His only begotten Son, that Whosoever would believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
It doesn’t say God love the perfect people, because the same Bible says that “For ALL have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God”. Also: “There are none righteous, no not one”. “We ALL as sheep have gone astray, each one going his own way...”.
Phelps is a SELF-righteous snake who is a stumbling block for many people. He causes people to turn AWAY from God and His Son, Christ Jesus.
Lady Gaga may very well be a tramp who is going to Hell - but that is not for Phelps to judge. If he feels called to share the wonderful truth of the Gospel, that Jesus came to set her free from her sinful life, to pay the sin debt she could not pay, and rose again making a way to a restored relationship with God, and an eternity in His presence... then that would be completely appropriate. But to just say that God hates her is not only inappropriate, but is completely wrong - and a total abomination in teaching.

There was a time when Fred was at least funny though. I remember when he paid a guy to fly all around and over a gay pride parade with a big banner that said "AIDS - God's cure for homos."

My cousin is a soft core white chick rapper in LA. I told her I heard Lady Gaga and I thought it was a crime that gaga had a contract and she didn’t. For a good laugh see how she rapped her wedding vows at the link. Mom is a former nun, dad is a former priest, hubby’s family is straight up Muslim. Best wedding I have been to in awhile!
