Top Five Reasons Gitmo Should Not Move to Illinois:
5) The U.S. has already spent a fortune retrofitting the facility at Guantanamo to make it Muslim Friendly!
4)We don't yet know the price paid for that wasting prison in Illinois, but I'm sure we got a racehorse deal (wink, wink)!
3)Now, we get to spend another fortune to retrofit the Illinois facility to be Muslim Friendly.
2) We had the Navy running Gitmo and working the facility. Now, we get to hire hundreds (thousands?) of new prison personnel in Illinois - all union, federal employees with their high pay, benefits, retirement, etc. Oh yeah, don't forget their votes!!!!

You’re missing the point. The mayor of the town and other locals already approved this move because it will bring about three thousand govt. jobs to the area. They will call it stimulus and Obama will take credit for it.
And, it’s in Obama’s backyard, and Dick Turbin pushed for this to happen.
The only reason they’re being moved to IL is because nobody else wanted them, so Dick Turbin pushed for this and Obama ok’d it.

This move is nothing but payback to Obama’s friends in Illinois. Obama was a part of the Illinois State Senate when this prison was dreamed up and approved by them but it ended up being a big money pit.

The Combine approved it, and after all, NOTHNING is more important than the Combine. So, instead of CLOSING Gitmo, it just gets moved. Those 3,000 jobs will be lost when ‘Gitmo North’ really closes? How soon will the restrictions be lifted, like they did for the Shoe Bomber Richard Reid, and they establish a work-release program to ‘rehabilitate’ the jihadists into Chicago cab drivers?
Cute! Moving Gitmo to Illinois is breaking news. I put my post there because no one is asking what I consider pertinent questions. Why do we have to do anything with those prisoners? Gitmo is a perfect place for all of them. And, how much is this totally absurd boondoggle costing us?
Illinois that cruel and unusual punishment...... Moving the detainees from a beautiful tropical san and surf to the frozen north...

Well connected Illinois Dem buddies and unions. That's why it is going to Illinois. .The same reasoning applied to the push for the Olympics. An Olympic village in South Side Chicago? There's better places to showcase the U. S. It made no sense except for the politically connected.
Will they enjoy the stimulus when some of them get killed in terrorist attacks and the rest have to live under fear of continuing attacks? The Chicago elite will get their payoffs in new Federal dollars, but the regular citizens of this small town will pay for importing a terrorist beacon into the US.
6) The Jihadis will file charges with the UN that they are being corrupted by Chicago politicians.
How long will these 3,000 jobs last?
The theory behind Gitmo is to keep these people from blowing us up in Jihad, and keep them out of the Justice system.
The Obama way is to try them ,and eventually release them somewhere. So how long will it take the Bama boy to get them all released and when that happens, to close the jail we will spend so much on.
Gitmo was condemned because these people were being held without trial. How long will it take for Amnesty International to realise that they are still being held without trial only now they are held in Illinois?

Hell, this is Illinois isn’t it? You could find a prison full of convicts just in Springfield State Government offices alone and usually starting with the Governor.
This is a payback to Dickie Dustbin for one of his votes.
Illinois, you deserve all the Gitmo convicts. They will melt in well with the population of Illinois
