My point was that this columnist fancies himself as enlightened, and the rest of the readers are a bunch of croutons.

With no Sarah Palin, Tina Fey's TV series suffered big ratings declines.
By contrast, with no Fey, Sarah Palin sold more books non-fiction in one week/two weeks, than anyone this year, and has the second biggest selling first week sales political memoir in the history of this country..soon to be the top selling political memoir ever, and have Oprah her highest ratings in 2 years.

If the businesses were making a profit, they would not have to borrow money to hire people, buy inventory, or expand. If they have to borrow money to do that , they are probably going belly up anyhow.
no, it still the same. Its too risky to lend out money esp when some of these banks are expecting tonnes of losses e.g ppl defaulting on mortgages, credit cards etc and those exposed to derivatives
