The part about State’s certainly true - I slug into DC every day and caught rides with several State Dept people who were completely open with the absolute strangers in their cars about their efforts to sandbag the President’s policies. Since slugs and drivers rarely introduce themselves, I never knew their names.

I also agree completely with Bush’s lack of understanding of Washington. I’ve lived here off and on since the mid-60’s, and when he decided to rise above the destruction the Clintonoids wreaked on the White House, I knew we were in for trouble.

It’ll be an interesting read - I wonder how many of them I’ll know? I’m not a player at all, just a little mouse creeping round the kitchen, but I’ve been in this kitchen a LOONNG time.
