PARKLAND, Wash. - Four police officers were shot and killed in a Sunday morning ambush at a Parkland-area coffee shop, officials said.
Pierce County Sheriff's Office spokesman Ed Troyer called the ambush "a targeted attack."
Officials at the scene said two gunmen burst into the Forza Coffee Co. outlet at 11401 Steele St. South, shot the four uniformed officers as they were working on their laptop computers, then fled the scene.
Other customers were inside the coffee shop at the time of the attack, but none of them were shot or injured.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest of the suspects, Troyer said.
Emergency personnel rushed to the scene after receiving a report that multiple officers were shot and killed in the ambush at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, according to reports from the scene.
Within minutes, hundreds of investigators and police were rushing to the scene. Roads were blocked in the vicinity of the attack.
One witness who was driving past said he saw an officer on the ground just after the shootings.
Authorities later closed off the air space over the scene of the shootings.
The radio is running appeals for people who saw or heard anything to call in.

Probably to keep down the confusion, and allow the emergency personal to communicate unhampered by noise. That place is right next to the runway.
I am guessing it is more of a criminal activity. Not typical of terrorists to target police officers unless they are getting a new MO.

The fog of war, I suppose ...there are widely varying accounts.
However, all four of the officers killed were sheriffs, who were known to gather at the coffee shop before their shifts and coordinate. Sheriffs often patrol rural or unincorporated areas, so I’d suspect this is a meth gang hit. It’s unusual, though, because they generally don’t take on law enforcement head on.

Noise and interference from news media choppers. The police want immediate and complete control in such a situation.... and I don’t blame them.
It could also be their protocol in our terrorist infested world, especially this close to a military airbase.

A brave man! Being a sheriff in some places is a lot more dangerous than being a city police officer.
That would be the FRICTION of war. People continually talk about the FOG of war, but the Prussian who is given credit for coining the term never talked of fog other than it being a meteorlogical even, low clouds. FRICTION, on the overhand are the physical impediments in accomplishing a task or winning a war and FRICTION is what the Prussian General continually wrote of.

Sheriffs are generally very dispersed and usually alone, and not a lot of them get killed, but it is very dangerous because they’re usually out in the woods by themselves. As I said, this is unusual.
If there was indeed one black and one white involved, I’d suspect meth. If there’s only one gunman and he’s black, I’d suspect something else, either sudden jihad syndrome or somebody copy-catting that other recent Washington cop killer.
