G’night to you, too.
All families have their quirky ones.
One of my cousins has been married and divorced so many times that her lawyer kept her files under her first name, because she had had so many different last names (seven if I remember correctly)
I hope and pray that you are right. I think the Tea Party movement illustrates just how much “regular Americans” are upset with the Marxists in power and I think if we can just hold the line until 2010 then we can stem the tide.
I do agree that the “moderates” (read: spineless) must be run out, but perhaps it’s the idealist in me (and many of us here) that believes we can do that with just such a spineless moderate in office. I don’t know if that would’ve been possible or even logical, but it was what most all of us hoped for voting for McCain. In any case, now that Chairmain Maobama is in office, we might as well purge every last moderate and liberal pseudo-conservative.
McCain was - and is not now a Moderate... what would make you believe McCain is anything less than full blood LIBERAL?
Hiding behind the label ‘Moderate’ is a liberal’s way of getting away with it...
Seek and elect people that agree with YOU 100% ... Don’t settle for some politico that you might agree with some 50-60 percent of the time or so... ‘cause that other 30-40 percent will kill you...
Oh hey, I like that one. Your momma didn’t raise no dummies did she. LOL
I do want the common man to be able to serve in Congress. For that reason I do believe they should be compensated for five years or so after leaving office.
That way they can ease back into society. As soon as they are employed, the compensation would cease.
My ideal, and it would alleviate the need for the above, would be that Congress serve two months a year, and the rest of the time the members work at home in their normal professions. Some compensation to their normal employer could ease the burden on them too.
What if the name next to the "R" reads "Palin"?
Good idea. I’ll mention what’s her name....uh....Dede.
“Ill ping you to the new activism thread when its posted.”
Thanks, please do. (sorry it took so long to get back here)
just dayum...
It is a crowded, polluted, dangerous replica of Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the people doing the replica omitted the beaches, celebrities, or nice weather.
Amen.
Yep. And you were on that list (not the one at your link, upthread from that). And I’m sure mine would have been added if he’d survived the night. He was really upset with me at the end. But I’d already gone to bed. Had sweet dreams, too...
If she somehow wins the nomination, I’ll vote for her. I thought that was understood?
I can’t agree there. A job is a job. A job with the federal government is no less than a job in the private sector. For example: My father taught at the AFA. He was no less worthy of retirement than the guy who taught at a private college for the same 30 years.
I’m not sure I could go along with that idea. You might find that if they worked 10 months out of the year that you’d have the most uniformed, ill prepared congressmen to ever serve.
In it’s inception, the idea was that Congress would be served by ‘the People’. It wasn’t intended to be a full time job year around. It wasn’t intended that the Congress would meddle in matters far and wide. The members weren’t intended to be so removed from the populace that they had no idea what the problems of the common man were. It was thought that if they had to live among the people, they would understand why not to raise taxes or levy oppressive legislation upon the good citizens.
IMO, anything we can do to bring these people down to our level, would be a very good step in the right direction.
At the present time, they consider themselves gods above us, not a representative of us.
While I understand your logic, it seems to me we have people today service who haven’t a clue. BTW: It’s my opinion that you could do better than 90% of the people in Congress on day one.
RE:#2307 “Have you not read what I wrote?”
You would not believe how many times I’ve read that on this thread. I’d be able to pay for an entire years worth of a dollar a day to FR if I had a dollar for everytime I read it.
:-)
ha! See my post at #2,459
