Guess who owns the TV networks, US corporations who have business plans to get involve in making money trading carbon offsets. Add leveraged funds, options, derivatives, swaps and etc to the mix and Wall Street is going to make money inflating another financial bubble based on carbon trade. New schemes and products will be invented to create a bubble that rewards the ones who gets in the ground floor and leaves some late comers with the bag when the scheme implodes. Then the big financial players will request (actually threaten) for government help and bailout. The dialogue goes like this - We were screwed by the schemes, so if we get screwed, the country will get screwed so you politicians better bail us out or be blamed for the crisis and the taxpayer will be screwed.
