Dominant names involved are ones I have followed throughout my career including, Phil Jones, Benjamin Santer, Michael Mann, Kevin Trenberth, Jonathan Overpeck, Ken Briffa and Tom Wigley. I have watched climate science hijacked and corrupted by this small group of scientists. This small, elite, community was named by Professor Wegman in his report to the National Academy of Science (NAS).
I had the pleasure of meeting the founder of CRU Professor Hubert Lamb, considered the Father of Modern Climatology, on a couple of occasions. He also peer reviewed one of my early publications. I know he would be mortified with what was disclosed in the last couple of days.
Jones claims the files were obtained illegally as if that absolves the content. It doesn’t and it is enough to destroy all their careers. Jones gave a foretaste of his behavior in 2005. Warwick Hughes asked for the data and method he used for his claim of a 0.6°C temperature rise since the end of the nineteenth century. Jones responded, “We have 25 years or so invested in the work. Why should I make the data available to you when your aim is to try and find something wrong with it?” He has stonewalled ever since. The main reason was because it was used as a key argument in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Reports to convince the world humans caused rapid warming in the 20th century. The emails obtained are a frightening record of arrogance, and deception far beyond his 2005 effort...."

And gang it is, among the comments on the article on the CFP site are some mighty informed opinions (as well as the true believers). This corrupt cabal has spent years working hand-in-glove with the global elitists and greenies. They've managed to intimidate the leading scientific journals and have a direct line to the NYT. They've set up a closed shop wherein they glowingly "peer review" each others articles and pillory any experts who don't agree with them.
The heart of the matter is that this Climate Research Unit of the University of East Anglia was the primary source of the data for the IPCC. The MSM is doing it's best to bury this, of course, and they have powerful friends who have too much invested in establishing World Government (or at least a lifetime gravy spigot) through Copenhagen. They'll be only too happy to win ugly.
I hope so, but it was never science in the first place. It was always a scam of epic proportions. May these slime bags rot in....., well, you know.

What I have read to date details the manipulation of data and analysis, not falsification. I am inclined to believe that people who would not scruple at manipulation are just as likely engage in outright falsification.

The strident rhetoric of this Global Warming stuff always reminds me of Trofim Lysenko, who single handed ruined Soviet agriculture with his pseudo science. Since he was Stalin’s favorite scientist, anyone who disagreed with hom wound up in the GULAG. It will be intersesting to see the Zero administration response to the exposure of this scam, as well as in Europe with the Hopenchangenhagen coming up.
Why wouldn’t any director, that’s not corrupt, put an equal number of respected skeptics in the CRU along with the AGW cultists and then open all of the data up for the world to see?
Why would scientists tolerate any of this behavior from the outset?
1. In the south pole the sea ice is greater by more than 1 million square Kilometers since at least 1977 except for three other times when the sea ice was even greater.
2. The sea ice in the North pole this year is deeper and growing deeper and faster than the ice of 1980.
Since these are the only dates I can find how do they say it is smaller ice than anytime?
They do not know how much ice was there before the views from space were available so it is a lie when they say it is smaller now that ever.

Hardly, "Global warming" is and as you point out always was a fraud. The thing about frauds though is that people WANT to believe in them, so for the true believers ie the envious, lazy, greedy parasites who despise success because they don't have the self discipline necessary for it, no proof is necessary, and no disproof is possible.
Where’s the mainstream media coverage?
I believe they will come up with some sort of bullsh$t explanation about how THEIR data is accurate and hasn’t been tampered with and that they stand by the globull warming hoax.
Nothing will change it.. the brain dead electorate will continue to ..."go with the flow".
