Rassmussen, - Support for Health Care reform at all time record low - 38% (political suicide watch)
Rasmussen ^ | Rasmussen

Posted on 11/23/2009 6:07:06 AM PST by sunmars

Just 38% of voters now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s the lowest level of support measured for the plan in nearly two dozen tracking polls conducted since June.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% now oppose the plan.

They could care less. They're going to pass something & from then on, it's all over.

The rats’ logic is ridiculous. We have to pass something.... anything..... even if it bankrupts the country. At least they can say they passed healthcare for their master. Morons.

Paradoxically, this is something that really scares me. Almost no one wants the health care bill. The economy is in tatters. Our foreign affairs are circling the drain.

And the Democrats in Washington seem to have no fear of 2010. Like its in the bag. I find their lack of concern quite chilling.

Keep calling and faxing. Doctors and insurance companies plus HMOs and others are working behind the scenes to kill this. We need to push harder.

Thank Newt and Dede for sabotaging NY-23 and helping ACORN/SEIU in their fraud. That helped it pass in the House.

BC is setting Obama up for the fall, guess who’s gets the shot in 2012 as the Dem’s fall to pieces in 2010.

And you know, for those 38%, they are probably the non-workers of this country, people swayed by the smile of Zer0.

The 62% who do not support it are the sweat makers who realize how badly they are getting screwed by the Dems.

They’re going to do it anyway because they “know better”.

I’ve been troubled by Dennis Moore’s demeanor, even before his announcement of not running again in 2010.

He’s got the demeanor of someone that knows that all this just doesn’t matter because the world as we know it is going to end far before any of the consequences of this come to fruition.

Right now the Democrats have the power and are going to use it to change the country. This is a lesson for all the GOP political time servers spooked by the polls and the MSM who refused to reform Social Security and reform entitlements when they were in power. Use it or lose it. I don't agree with the Democrats but I admire their willingness to defy public opinion to push their agenda into law. Use it or lose it.

Me too. It's like they know of some secret plan to retain power. The Health Care bill, if passed, will help them do that in the long run but will certainly hurt them in the short run. What they have in their arsenal for 2010 and 2012 is a mystery to me.

But the Republicans, if they have a brain (questionable, I know) they will run on a platform promising the repeal of this draconian legislation. That should be the centerpiece of their election strategy. Watch Sarah Palin because that is the direction she will head. You can count on it.

I believe that in their perverted view, if they get the healthcare bill passed and signed, it is “checkmate” on the American public. They know that their political enemies (the gutless, pansy Repubicans) do not have the stones to reverse the legislation, and even if a few tried, they would soon be deluged by the MSM with endless stories of “taking peoples’ healthcare away”. It is only a battle for them... they MAY lose a few seats in 2010, but they know a populace's attention span is that of a mentally challenged titmouse, and they will be back supporting their socialism-loving candidates in the next election. Pretty sad.

As for the Dems’ overconfidence for 2010, I think they are being told by a delusional Barry that America is still SOOOOOO in love with him so they are safe. It bothers the hell out of me too. Politicians unconcerned about election repercussions. Either they think there will be no personal repercussions (as in if they lose office, they will get big-bucks jobs in some think tank as compensation for falling on their swords), or they think that they will not lose in the official vote counts regardless of how mad the people are.

I fear that Mr. Steele is just a tool of the RATS as are Ms Snowe and Ms Collins. They are just waiting for an opportunity to roll-over for Reid.

When your antagonist is doing something that is self-destructive, get out of his way. Even a dying rattlesnake can inflict a venomous bite. Not to stand off completely, but take the whacks when opportunity presents.

All we need to do to slow this progression to chaos, is to never let it gain traction, and the agenda seems to be causing a HUGE amount of disillusionment out there.

That will never happen. Name me ONE entitlement the GOP repealed when it was in power.

Of course I can't do that. But you have to admit that this one is a bit different. The taxes go into effect quickly, perhaps in 2010. The "benefits" that will ultimately preclude a Republican repeal don't take effect until at least 2013. So the normal buy-in that you see with Social Security, Medicare, Prescription Drug Benefit etc. as the beneficiaries get bought off by the system won't be there immediately. But the pain will.

I agree it's a long shot. But the unpopularity of this legislation will not decrease for at least 3-4 years. That is the window of opportunity for the Republicans. They can take that opportunity or they can sell us out. Up to them. I'm hopeful but, like you, not overly optimistic. OTOH it is the reason why you need to support Sarah Palin or some TBD outsider who is willing to take on the Washington establishment. Right now Palin looks like the only one really willing to do that. The rest are just go-along, get-along clones like Lindsey Graham.

Who's the Senator with the bad teeth that looks like a toothed blow fish? He said that once passed, the liberals can change the health care bill into what they want it to be. They'll hide amendments in bills that need to be approved and we'll never hear about it.

All that sh!t has GOT to stop. We need someone willing to go over every bill with a fine tooth comb and report on what has been sneaked into the bill BEFORE it gets passed so that we can publicize it and embarrass the M0R0NS who are destroying our Country.

Congress people have GOT to be held accountable for the way they vote AND for the amendments they place in bills.
