With the possible exceptions of Richard Nixon and George W. Bush, no modern era politician has been more derided by the media than Sarah Palin. And the attacks do not stop with her. They include nasty rumors about her family and even the mocking of her children.
Palin has responded to some of the vitriol in her new book, "Going Rogue," hoping to give readers her side on controversies like the expensive clothes, the interview gaffes and Alaska's "Troopergate" case.
How have the media received the former Alaska governor's side of the story? Not well. She is being called a whiner and an ingrate, among other things.
Uber-liberal Cynthia Tucker of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says: "There is absolutely nothing in Sarah Palin's past that suggested she was ever going to let the past go. She's always been petty. She's always been vindictive."
Let's get this straight: Media people like Tucker can hammer Palin all day long, but if she defends herself, she's petty and vindictive.

It’s really interesting to talk to a lib about Palin. Even liberal friends. Mention Sarah Palin’s name, and their face hardens, eyes narrow, lips curl back, their voice changes, little flecks of spit appear at the corner of their mouths...
It’s kind of funny, actually. Like holding up a crucifix in front of a vampire or something. I’m not even sure they realize how they look.

The personal attacks against Sarah Palin doesn’t come close to the others.
Her book doesn’t even show up on the list of Bestsellers on the NYTimes list..Why?

The NY Slimes and other liberals are seriously considering excluding any conservative best seller from their list. Why? Because they consistently outsell the liberal drivel from the leftists.

Sarah Palin has had it far worse than the others.
A couple of days ago I was talking with a 91 year old woman, who is a Democrat. She said she sees Palin as a Floozy. I asked her why she would think that. She just said you see her one way and I see her another.
Normally I am extremely respectful toward elderly ladies. But in this case, I must say this woman’s eyes need examining.
I pay attention to these things too, media bias is one of my obsessions although I don’t mention it much here at FR.
As much as Reagan and G.W. were attacked, which was to an extent that most of us thought could not be exceeded, this Palin thing is beyond anything that any of us have ever seen or could have imagined, it is almost as if they found a 25th hour to attack her, I guess that is from the entire new playing field that using her children added, plus her being an attractive female politician and mother.
Dick Cheney. Jesse Helms is another. Ronald Reagan.
Rick Santorum. Then there’s non-pols like Ann Coulter and Phyllis Schafly.
Since she is 91 I give her a pass. She is from the old school where women who wore red and bright red lipstick where known as that. I guess she just hasn’t accepted times have changed.
Robert Bork. Scalia. The list is endless. Palin is just the most recent.
It might be the worst ever. Another one was the non-stop attack on Newt Gingrich after he became speaker. And another one many here might not want to acknowledge was against Ross Perot, during the summer of 1992 after he took the lead in the polls over GHWB and Clinton. That was as bad as any I've seen for a couple of months until he dropped out.
My liberal spouse had on a repeat of the Joy Behar show this evening. I tried to tune out the television and concentrate on various things on the internet.
Once in a while I caught comments by two women on with Joy Behar. Used as I am to the vagaries of women and Oprah's "empowering women" talk, I smiled sadly. For they cannot even give a woman her due. A thrust was made about Sarah not wanting to sign books in big cities. Construed that Sarah does not think honest working people are in big cities.
I realized that old William Shakespeare knew women. It was in his play "Macbeth" that he created Lady Macbeth. She called on the fiends of hell to un sex her, so that she could put aside womanly virtues and compassion. This to council her husband to destroy and kill. Even to curdle the very milk in her breast, turn it to gall.
I had a laugh though. Hey! I have seen Lady Macbeth- tiz Joy herself. She could well tread the boards as such.
lThe nyt bestsellers list is a non entity. Means nothing except media manipulation. Tells no truth about book sales generally or specifically.
Back in the bad old days before the internet and Amazon there were many authors, who out sold the NYT best sellers by far, but these authors have had no traction with the freaks who run the nyt and so they never made the nyt list.
the nyt is a has-been. dont even pay attention to it.
And all this hatred simply because she still holds to teh same moral beliefs that everyone, including her liberal adversaries, once held to.
This is what the American ruling class thinks of those of us who have committed the supreme crime of not changing with the times. We're "monsters."
I definitely remember the anti-Gingrich stuff, I used to keep out a half dozen US News, Time and Newsweek Magazines and when we were drinking and talking politics I would point at those magazines with their terrible Newt Gingrich as monster covers, then I would point at the dates and remind people that those were not bitter, public reflections of his failing popularity in office, no, those were the very first introductions to the public that the media made when he was voted Speaker of the House.
That is how the media first showed him to the public that had just swept his party into office, they did the same thing with Quayle, (look at the editions of his first week that Bush chose him) and then the same and worse with Palin, with Palin they went after her in the same way plus in new ways and directions that they could not do to a man and a father.
I can’t remember any other candidates who have had their children trashed down to Trigg and by MSM.
Also the gotcha interviews have been over the top
Christian, Pro Life, woman and/or black means unmitigated hatred from all segments of America’s establishments.
Its weird to say but in some respects Palin must be elected to humiliate discredit and destroy the struggling vestiges of this Old School of Hate that has been building in America since the 1960s.
The Yes We Can of Hate that brought Obama to power is a statement of raw power and contempt. Palin is the anti-thesis.
How can it go any other way for 2012?
They slimed Reagan but it didn’t work. They slimed Gingrich, that worked, Quayle too.
Sarah has a huge advantage with the internet, facebook and the alternative media. She has and will continue to get her message out and more than ever her image will not be determined SOLELY by the lamestream media.
She’s doing great so far, she’s responded to every Obama gaffe and taken conservative positions and offered conservative solutions.
Still, she has detractors here. They should give her credit for speaking out clearly and unambiguously while most of the other potential 2012 contenders still need to stick their fingers in the wind.

I’m not saying that Sarah has been chosen by God to be POTUS.
I’m just saying that those who are trying to destroy her aren’t the ones who can stop whatever He wills for her life.
Media bias has ruined Palin. Many people I know laugh at the idea of her being POTUS. Its sad, but true.

I hope you folks “talking” about Sarah are also reading her book. I thought it was going to be a political tome ... its actually a page turner and as stated above in the thread, she exposes the “big stories” we all heard ... which only exposes the press. Also, if you “listen” carefully, you’ll see what she’s doing RIGHT NOW is exactly what she did to take Alaska away from the Big Pols there. Get her book, read it, enjoy. And watch her as she does it again. To heck with the press, make up your own mind. Get the book, its one for the bookshelf. (It also kind of makes you want to grab you gun, ammo, coat and hat and head for Alaska!)
People all assume she is running for President.
But maybe she is living “one day at a time”...the book deal allows her to pay off the legal debts from the Democrats fake ethics suits, and she can spend time with her family.
Right now she is not qualified to be President, but if you remember history, another “hated” person who ended up saving the country years after the powers that ran the press exiled him was Winston Churchill...
Palin could influence politic in many ways, but I pray that she follows the Lord, not that she wins.
I have just finished her book, and I think that the book will go a long way in changing your friends mind, provided they are open minded and willing to read the book. If they are not that open minded it is likely that they would never have supported Sarah in the first place. In the book Sarah makes a strong case for having resigned from the Governor’s office, and it should resonate with reasonable people, willing to imagine themselves in similar situations. In Going Rogue it is explained that not only Sarah, but Sarah’s staff where being targeted by frivolous ethics complaint’s. One of the staff member felt compelled to resign, and that story helped me to put the situation if perspective.

She is highly qualified to be President.
She has 16 years of political experience at the local, state, and federal level and she has a large base of support.
so true....you know, until last year, i used to really enjoy presidential politics...even when my choice lost, i still sat back and admired and enjoyed the whole process in good ol USA, the conventions..the debates, the rough and tumble of it all. However, what they did to this courageous and beautiful woman was disgusting. All because she accepted the nomination and wanted to serve her country. Even though the election is long over, i’m still saddened and ashamed of what went on this country and that sad chapter has kinda ruined it for me forever. Even if she were to run and someday win, while it would be sweet revenge, it wont erase the shame i felt about what they did to Sarah Palin. Never thought i’d see that in this country.
A few days ago, i was on a forum that originates in England, and more than a few people asked me..”could you please tell us what this woman did to get such vile treatment?...some of us here in England just can’t figure it out!”...so i told em, that the main source of hatred for her was from liberal women, and at the heart of it was abortion and God. Sarah Palin’s pro-life beliefs and her incredible courage to have a Down Syndrome baby ignites in liberal women a conflict deep in their souls. They know deep in their hearts that a woman is not supposed to destroy her own baby...this belief in liberalism and abortion is a lie and deep down, they know it. They try to use “career”..”education”...”drug lifestyles” to appease their guilt and to fight the natural, God given emotion to have and nurture children. As they get older, this inner conflict becomes more intense so they lash out at anyone that reignites this conflict, hence the hatred for Sarah. They know that the day is coming...when they are breathing their last few breaths of life, they’ll have to answer for this sin. They can educate themselves all they want...drug themselves all they want..travel the world all they want...that inner demon is still there. They know in their hearts that life is a miracle, and was not meant to be artificially destroyed because of “conveinience”...its guilt, pure and simple.

and surprised some of the articles are more fair to Sarah than they were months ago including comments from the public to the articles.
The liberals here have the long knives out but
I hope 2010 election will snap them in half.

IMHO, after the interview, BOR is convinced that 1. Sarah Palin is going to run, and that 2. He believes she will win. IMHO
