I’ve known quite a few people who have vacationed in Turkey over the years, and they all loved it.
But I think things are changing. Islam is on the rise, and the Generals seem to have decided they can no longer fight it.
I've read many times that the Turks are just about the reasonable Moslems you can find. But I've also read that that's changing.
just about the reasonable = just about the most reasonable
I suspect we’re going to learn that this was President George Bush’s fault.
Good catch! But, did anyone lay a hand on George?
That was when HIS security detail was being held back and all he did was reach over and pull them through the cordon.
That comment is so stupid it's really not worth a response.
Barack Hussein is groveling before the mullahs, taliban and other assorted terrorists. You seriously think this has anything to do with Turkey or Islam? LOL!
It's a bad thing if the SS of the US President is mishandling a foreign head of government as described. There is that thing called diplomacy. I don't give a damn about Erdogan. But as the head of the Turkish government, which has influence on National security matters (regarding Iraq and troops in Afghanistan) mistreating him and provoking a confrontation doesn't quite strike me as a good thing.
But what do you care about US interests... as long as a Turk is roughed up you are satisfied.
Give me a break.
:I suspect were going to learn that this was President George Bushs fault.”
Just another example of the hatred of the American people caused by George Bush ... /sarc
Ah yes! Thanks for jogging my memory.
Remember when Dubya took on some bodyguards in a foreign country and manhandled the guy on behalf of his own secret service.
No doubt O was simpering and whimpering in the corner all wee wee-d up.
My wife and I are planning a trip to Istanbul this coming April. If anyone has recent information, I would appreciate recommendations. Perhaps by FR mail.
I remember when President Bush had to step in to rescue one of his Secret Service guys. Can’t remember the country but I remember it was one where we weren’t real comfortable while he was there. Maybe an unfriendly country and not one of our close allies.
Bush and security were entering a large room, one agent was stopped by the other country’s security, Bush stepped back and touched their security’s arm, then got a hold of SS agent and literally pulled him through the crowd.
Shouldn’t that be “personhandled”?
I’m affectionately reminded of the day President Bush grabbed his #2 secret service agent away from Chilean security agents.

You mean the Turkish Prime Minister wasn’t scared?? Or maybe he didn’t know that Obama has just received his “black belt.” /s
Article is from ‘Russia Today’.
There is no trace of this incident in Google news.
“That comment is so stupid it’s really not worth a response.”
Really? Why is it you American conservatives are sooooooooooooo enamored of Turkish Mohammedans? You’ll sell out any Eastern Christian for a Turk, won’t you, if you think it will advance your political agenda. After all, that’s “diplomacy”.
“You seriously think this has anything to do with Turkey or Islam? LOL!”
You seriously think it doesn’t? What do you know about Turkish Mohammedanism? Nothing, nothing at all. The Turks killed millions of Christians, SW, millions, but if you can gain a point in your mundane political games with Obama, well, we’ll just forget that, right, like we forget the outstanding support the Turks gave us in the run up to the Iraq war /s.
“There is that thing called diplomacy.”
That’s been the right’s excuse for America’s support for one Turkish attack after another against Eastern Christians ever since the 1920s. Does that make you proud to be an American?
“But what do you care about US interests... as long as a Turk is roughed up you are satisfied.”
Absolutely! I hope he wet his pants!
“Give me a break.”
Do you know who hates the Turks more than the Eastern Christians? The Arabs. America’s unthinking support of Turkish depredations is, among other reasons, why we are positively loathed in the ME. BTW, SW, the average Turk loathes us too.
Thanks for posting the link, I love that video. President Bush just reached in, resolved the matter without fuss, and went about his business, no unseemly scuffling from him. What a down-to-earth manly man he is, no fuss no muss.
Sounds like Turkish guards of the Prime Minister were replaced....by who? If it was by the Turks, Obama wins the argument.
If it was by Obama - what &*$#^$&ing right does he have to "replace" the Prime Ministers own guards.- unless they were US guards in the first place assigned to the Prime Minister.
A lot doesn't make sense here!!!
Um, and how exactly, did this bozo get elected again? And what experience did he have and where did he come from??
Leader of the free world my ass.
