Sarah Palin trashes 'lamestream media'
Politico ^ | 11/18/09 | ANDY BARR

Posted on 11/18/2009 6:57:09 PM PST by presidio9

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin smacked the “lamestream media” on Wednesday for allegedly distorting what she writes in her book.

Speaking on Sean Hannity’s radio show, Palin said that “some on the left, that lamestream media, they’re contradicting what I wrote in the book.”

Hannity jumped in to ask, “did you say lamestream media?”

“Yeah, lamestream,” Palin responded. “They are contradicting those facts that I laid out regarding what Reagan had to say.”

“Anyways, it’s been nonsense to hear some of the criticism of that principle there, and that is what history shows us is what Ronald Reagan did was put American back on the right path,” she continued. “We need to emulate that.”

“We need to repeat that instead of going back to the 1930s and think that some growth of government, New Deal spending is going to get us out of a recession,” she said. “It is, of course, going to cause greater problems.”

Palin did not specify who she was accusing of distorting her view of Reagan’s policies during her interview with Hannity.

Arriving at a bookstore in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Wednesday to kick off her book tour, Palin encouraged the crowd to “read truth” in her book.

I heard the interview in the car. Hannity seemed suprised by the term, but I use it all the time. Helps me identify closet liberals.

Only a hardcore liberal who thinks MSNBC is center-left would reject the fact that there is tremendous media bias in this country.

You all should be reading her book. It is NOT what I thought it was going to be ... I thought I’d have to struggle through another political manifesto. But it is NOT that. I’m 1/2 way through it and am finding it fascinating. Actually “fun” to read. This gal is no “blue blood” ... she is a “red blooded” American. Don’t want to give away any more, but I think you’ll find it is not what you thought it would be ... and its better! Watching her now on Hannity ... you can see she is right “on message” from what she put into her book. When people say to me “she’s not material for President” ... I have to ask ... “Is Obama?” Also, who would support YOUR thoughts and feelings more? Match her up with anyone, how often would she “vote” YOUR thoughts? I cannot find an area in which I disagree with her and the only other person who would have a 100% agreement with me is DeMint.

The message is solid and I can honestly say her way with words has shown marked improvement since the campaign. I noticed that Huffpost hasn’t been able to find anything from her myriad interviews this week to skewer her with yet. You know if they had found something like a Couric moment they would have had it out there by now. Still possible that they will try of course.

I think I started usin’ that phrase here on FR. :)

Maybe you started it on FR, but I found a place where I used it on another forum in early 1999, shortly after I joined FR.

You hadn't joined by then, at least not under your current name. So, I didn't pick it up from you. :-)

I think I used it even earlier than that (in the '96-'99 timeframe), but I can't search that particular forum.

Palin did not specify who she was accusing of distorting her view of Reagan’s policies during her interview with Hannity.

Perhaps with a little research, you could figure it out, Politico.

The lamestream media was falling all over themselves MISQUOTING REAGAN yesterday, in trying to attack Palin.

Once again, for the record, Reagan's 11th Commandment: "Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican."

Doesn't mean you can't criticize policy, etc. Just means no personal attacks.

I ordered her book today from Amazon. Can’t wait. I also watched her on Hannity. Her best interview yet, imo. She was beautiful, relaxed, and intelligent. I wish I could see what is happening at the MI bookstore tonight. It’s probably chaotic with everyone trying to see her. Chris Matthews is probably wetting his pants about now.

Yup this is Sarah unchained. Interstingly enough if you go back to the 2007 youtubes of her interviews and her 2006 governor debate, this is the same woman. Those couple months with the McCain handlers were different. Worst campaign staff ever.

Now, just consider, if she runs for president and smokes Obama’s butt as I believe she will...just consider how that will make McCain’s handlers look. McCain will want all of them nailed to the wall.

I do wonder who she could get to manage her campaign...

Calling them names like “lamestream” isn’t going to have much of an impact. I describe here how one recent smear could have perhaps been avoided; if her supporters want to have an impact read between the lines a bit:

Aw, why bother being mysterioso? I know based on experience I’m not going to get much help with this, but what I try to do is “Google bomb” reporters’ names. That can be devastatingly effective if the first Google result for their name shows how they aren’t credible.

She’s having fun with it. She is now free to speak her own mind without restrictions, like the McCain campaign. And she has nothing to lose and is just thriving adjusting to all the hate and slander directed her way and striking back and deliving a K.O. while at it. I have always thought it important for a conservative to not give legitimacy to the lamestream media in their deliberate and obvious Demon party/leftist agenda propaganda that is always out to destroy conservatives and anyone who is a challenge to their power structure. The media is not above questioning and has been playing a dangerous game for a long time, but it is great to see Palin finally letting people know and wake up to the fact the press is not above questioning and literally is out to push Demonrat policy on us.

Like I say, she’s having fun with it now. After the original shock of the hate directed at her she now enjoys hitting back and setting the record straight. Cheney is a great example of speaking his mind and hitting back after all the accusations and taking on the 0bama administration and knowing what’s coming with the frothing mouths and nasty comments and I think it’s obvious they’ve learned to have fun with it.

I'd be surprised if Sarah is not familiar with us, but I can guarantee Rush reads it. We are great show prep for him, and any number of us have been quoted verbatim and are PROUD to share our turns of phrase with El Rushbo.

Hannity used to FReep but he gets so much grief here that he said at one time that he was staying away. If he reads FR now ever, he probably stays far from any thread on him, because rather than compliment him for all that he does for our side, he is routinely ridiculed for his lack of intellectualism. His gifts are underrated here; if you want haughty intellectualism, there is so much of it on the left. Sean's a hockey player and a bulldog and one could not find a harder tireless worker for us in the media.

I think McCain’s was lamest from beginning to end.

Then again there were truly bad moments in those others; GHWB looking at his watch, and who can forget the cheesy 15% off buttons on Dole and Kemp.
