We expected all along that recipients would make mistakes on their congressional districts, on jobs numbers, on award amounts, and so on. Human beings make mistakes,

Double their funding! Giving money to stupid bureaucrats is stimulating!

“Human beings make mistakes,

Which is exactly why we don’t want the human beings responsible for the stimulus fiasco put in charge of our health care. Markets have a tendency to hold humans accountable for their mistakes by rewarding those who get it right and punishing those who get it wrong. In contrast, government too often rewards mistakes, or at best, looks the other way. Thus, in market-driven systems, the tendency is for value-for-money to increase over time, either because quality improves or because prices decline or some combination. In government-run systems, the opposite outcomes are typical.

Obama has foolishly followed the lead of progressives who believe that profits are evil and that markets and medicine shouldn’t mix. Such ideologues have never let evidence stand in the way of their deeply destructive policy prescriptions.
