Japan expert to ABC: Yes, Obama’s bow made him look like an idiot

So much of an idiot, in fact, that according to Tapper’s source, at least one Japanese paper isn’t running the photo out of embarrassment. This tool actually groveled himself into a minor international incident.

The good news for O-bots? It wasn’t unprecedented. Nixon evidently made a modest bow to Hirohito in the early 70s. The bad news?

“Obama’s handshake/forward lurch was so jarring and inappropriate it recalls Bush’s back-rub of Merkel."

“Kyodo News is running his appropriate and reciprocated nod and shake with the Empress, certainly to show the president as dignified, and not in the form of a first year English teacher trying to impress with Karate Kid-level knowledge of Japanese customs."

“The bow as he performed did not just display weakness in Red State terms, but evoked weakness in Japanese terms….The last thing the Japanese want or need is a weak looking American president and, again, in all ways, he unintentionally played that part."

Obowma does it again. But the O-bots will say,,,"Nixon did it too! Nixon did it too!"

No comparison with Nixon’s head nod. The Dems will trot this out in a futile attempt to cover up this major diplomatic blunder.

Nixon may have made a “modest bow”, but Sheik Obama folded up like a pocket knife.

Somebody has hacked into ABC.com and replaced their content with real news stories.

Why else are they reporting the "saved jobs" fiasco, and now this ...

They may very well have simply given him bum advice: “Be sure to hunch way the hell over and stare at the ground. They all do it that way.” For another thing, and somewhat notably, Japan isn’t a stop on The One’s world apology tour.

This is pure BS. Obama did this on his own. No one would give him such advice from the Office of Protocol or at our embassy in Tokyo. I say that advisedly having served as Foreign Service Officer for 28 years.

Perhaps he missed that whole 1945 end of the war thing that said the Emperor is no longer to be treated as god on Earth. You know Obama isn't big on those America wins against tyrants stories. He finds them depressing.

Obama’s supporters can argue that Nixon and Hirohito mutually bowed to each other, but you will notice none of Obama’s minions bring up the fact that other world leaders do not bow to Akihito.

“a way of apologizing for Hiroshima and Nagasaki.”

We are so sorry for bombing Hiroshima that we have set in play policies to ensure that one of our cities will be nuked by terrorists in a few years. That way America will assuage its guilt. Why should Japan be the only nation to have suffered such an attack? It is only right that New York, LA or Miami is sacrificed in exchange.

Someone in Hillary’s State Department has children who take Suzuki lessons, too; you can almost see the bubble over his head, “Ichi, ni, san, chi” (one, two, three, four) during the bow!

In the upper photo it appears to be a mutually respectful ( and equal) nod.

Obama is so low in his bow that the emperor actually has to stoop to reach Obama’s awkwardly outstretched hand.

It’s not just the Democrats, folks. Nixon opened up China to world trade with “Most Favored Nation” status. Dubya left the Mexican border open for millions of wetbacks.

The President of the United States is both Head of State and Head of Government of the United States. As such the equal of every other Emperor, King, Queen Regnant*, President, or Prime Minister on the planet.

Bowing to a foreign monarch is a major protocol violation. One of a number by the President this year.

You can’t blame it on the protocol office anymore. The fish rots from the head...

I couldn’t agree more with your assessment. I wouldn’t discount another opinion, upthread, that Hirohito is saying something and Pres. Nixon is leaning in to hear it. That makes sense. They would want to keep any personal exchange low so the microphones wouldn’t pick it up.

Clearly not an expert on the United States. Obama looked like an idiot before his first bow. This latest embarrassment is just another link in a very long and humiliating chain of events, one that doesn't even stand out relative to the druggie's usual faux pas. How did the land that produced so many patriots from Daniel Boone to Sarah Palin also raise the morons who voted that ineligible and incompetent socialist into our White House?

Anyone who is aware of Unit 731 and what the Japanese did to more than 3,000 human beings, using them for experimentation, infecting them with plague, disecting them alive without annestheia can’t help but come to the conclusion that nuking that evil regime was justified. http://www.ww2pacific.com/unit731.html

If it wasn’t for the US, Japan wouldn’t have a monarchy. Or a consitution with civil rights for all.
