I’m in Maryland (yea, I know....) It’s an orange credit card marked “Independence” for food stamp money.
You’d think that with modern technology, we could flag some obviously inappropriate foods for disqualification.

The reality is that we’ve got uninsured people with no money showing up for urgent medical care, and nobody has the guts to say NO. While I totally understand why you don’t turn away the innocent child who’s been hit by a drunk driver just because the child’s parents didn’t buy insurance, I don’t understand why nobody has the decency to tell the drunk driver (and family) NO. We could afford to cover those who really deserve our *charity*, if we’d stop covering the drunk drivers, drug addicts, face-stuffers, gang-bangers, etc.
