WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama said today it was time for the Senate to "take the baton" on health care reform after the House passed its plan for overhauling the nation's health care system.

"For years we've been told that this couldn't be done," Obama said in a brief statement from the Rose Garden. "But last night the House proved different."

The Democratic-controlled House on Saturday narrowly passed the far-reaching legislation, 220-215, but the road ahead in the Senate promises to be rocky. The president said the House vote took courage for many lawmakers because of the heated and often misleading rhetoric that accompanied debate over how the change the system.

There was nothing brave about th vote. Stupid would be a better word.

Some of those brave voters were paid off some were threatened and cowed by Pelosi and Hoyer.

The fact is that they voted against th most Unconstitutional bill ever brought before the House and they will be haunted by their vote.

The working democrats (the few) are freaking out, too. They had no idea they'd be forced to buy their own health insurance or get fined. They thought they'd be able to get totally free health care paid for by "someone else."
The idea of actually paying for it themselves blew their minds, and now it's going to be required by law. They're in a state of panic. They're getting stuck with the bill as much as we are. Even worse, they're going to be forced to pay for their kids health care until they're 27 years old.

(Yes, democrats, you're going to be forced to pay for your own health care as well as other peoples health care, abortions, and illegal immigrants health care. You won't have a choice. I suggest you cut back on your spending now and get used to it.
So, hows that hope and change working out for you guys?)

I’ve been listening to our local morning talk show here in Boston. I’m amazed and delighted by the number of people who have called in and declared that they will go to jail before they will kowtow to the mandates in this bill.

It is NOT DEAD!! We were told that the HOUSE version was DEAD.

Back in Clinton's first term, the "Assault Weapons Ban" looked dead at one point too. Clinton's reputation and ego were riding on that legislation passing, though, so he gave it everything he had to shove it through.

Of course, that made the Dems lose in '94, but we still had to live with the AWB for the next 10 years...

obama, you're lying, again, and wrong, again. What passed in the House thanks to Pelosi's arm twisting and throwing of fellow 'rats under the bus (wait until the '10 elections) has nothing to do with health care reform. You know this obama, you're lying to us again.

If you look at what Pelosi's bill would do, it has very little to do with health care.

obama, you know as well as I do this is nothing but an expansion of government and fascist/socialist powers. Stop lying to us obama. Stop your un-American, even anti-American activities. We the people are going to throw you bums out and un-do every thing you've done.

No, Obammie, you weren’t told for years that it couldn’t be done.

You were told for years that it SHOULDN’T be done.

It is unconstitutional.

It has destroyed medical care in any country that has allowed the government to force Socialized Medicine, which is what this is.

It bankrupts a nation.

It enables the government to destroy individual choice and liberty.

Americans are fully aware that ANY government is capable of stealing as much power as the people allow them to.

We have the blood-splattered laboratory of the 20th century as all the evidence we need of just what collectivist governments are capable of.

We know you “can.”

We’re determined to see that you “shall not.”

Democrat threads referring to this bill (they don't want to be forced to pay for health care. They want it free.)......

"Regardless of whether it just means I'm irresponsible, I've refused to buy car insurance for years since the law went into effect, and I will refuse to buy health insurance if that becomes the law of the land as well."

" I will leave the country, I really will. My mom's moving to Point Roberts anyway Good enough reason to move to Canada, it'll be easier to visit. "

"They don't want you in jail, they want to confiscate your assets jails are expensive, they'll parole people onto the streets, but before the masters let them out, they'll make sure none of them have any property. "

"I'm sure I won't be the only one. Good luck enforcing the law, the jails are already full."

"The mandate to purchase health insurance How is this right? If you can't afford it then tax dollars will flow to the private sector health insurance vultures so you can? Isn't this just legal extortion enriching the very corporate entities, with our tax dollars, that have caused this mess? Isn't this just more corporate welfare? "

If it is dead, that will be a good thing. But I ill believe it when I see it killed. This may, or could be, the socialists have came so close of accomplishing their goal, to expect them to give up without getting nasty. The question yet to be answered is, are we ready and prepared to meet them. At this point in time I do not think so.

They say the Healthcare initiative would not take effect until 2013, IF it passes the Senate.

Thats an awful long time for Americans to stew and simmer, an adequate amount of time for possibly three fourths of America to be ready and willing to suddenly declare when the bill goes into effect to then be citizens breaking the law and subject to arrest, subject to arrest after assets are seized buy the procedures of IRS, but by then 50 million or more will have reduced their personal assets to minimal levels, they will own a cheap car, they will live in a cheap RV, they will find ways to pass on their homes to family members so the IRS cannot touch it.

Time enough to be ready to face down the court system, to demand a jury trial, to demand FREE health care while incarcerated.

We have all the time in the world to organize this, three years is an eternity, I am not losing sleep right this minute as I believe the Senate will kill this.

The alternative would be too chilling if they do not stop it now.

Adding to that anger will be the fact that the taxes start immediately.

We’ve all voiced a LOT of rhetoric here at FR about any Congresscritter voting FOR DeathCare would not be returned to Congress. Ok, I’ll play, who here REALLY believes that the 219 Dems and 1 Republican who voted FOR the House bill last Saturday will be looking for a new job this time next year???

IF it happens, I’ll be happy to add my voice to those cheering but, frankly, I don’t see it happening!!! There is only ONE way to end the madness that is our government today and that is by a complete and total citizen takeover of te government and trying EVERY SINGLE ONE of them for treason and malfeasance!!!

The democrat activists hate it. They don't like being forced to buy health insurance and get fined if they don't. They wat it free.

EXAMPLE (DUmmies):

"I get it!!!!! The healthcare bill is just a jobs bill in disguise. It will definitely create jobs. No ya say? How ya ask? Building prison after prison , to house all the jobless people and working poor that are barely being able to keep a roof over their heads and feed their families, that can't afford insurance at any price. It is an idiotic idea to force people to buy health insurance and make it a crime if you don't It. is utterly unconstitutional and not even covered by the 10th Amendment, it's beyond belief! At any rate I don't think this abortion of a bill is going to fly in the Senate.....I sure as hell wouldn't vote yea on the bill as it is...not if I expected to be reelected. "

"just not true... For many people who are middle income earners who make more than the top level of subsidies (about 43K/yr for one person), the cost of a premium is about 5K/year, and the copays and deductibles can amount to another 5K/year. In this economy I don't think too many people have that 10K sitting fallow, waiting to be gobbled up by insurance corporations! The bill, as it stands now, is unaffordable for middle income people. The risk for not purchasing insurance is a fine and jail! That's just absurd. This bill transfers MASSIVE amounts of money from we, the people, to insurance corporations! Isn't there something very very wrong with that??!!?? I think so. I'm a health practitioner. I deal with this stuff every day." "

"And the list goes on. What amazes me are the sheep on DU that are happy as clams over this piece of ($)hit bill. "

There's a lot more complaining going on, but you get the idea. If it isn't free for democrats, they don't want it.

That’s why they are making the claim that this bill will be “deficit neutral” and will actually reduce the “deficit”, even though they know good and well it is a complete and utter lie.

There they go again, thinking the American people are totally ignorant and stupid. In the Democrat/Liberals case, this is actually a true statement. But now, they have riled up the silent majority of Conservatives; The Sleeping Giant and they have filled him with a TERRIBLE RESOLVE!
