Certainly Democrats can try to comfort themselves with the Wall Street mantra that "past performance is no guarantee of future results." But as they recover from a troubling 2009 election season, the party in power in Washington faces a lot of reasons for concern about the 2010 horizon...
(Excerpt) Read more at time.com ...
Here's the list, for those who don't want to give TIME a web hit:
Chris Dodd (Connecticut)
The Obama Seat (Illinois)
Harry Reid (Nevada)
Arlen Specter (Pennsylvania)
The Biden Seat (Delaware)
Blanche Lincoln (Arkansas)
The Salazar Seat (Colorado)
Byron Dorgan (North Dakota)
The House
The Governors
They’ll all lose.
If I were them, i would be worried about 50 races. I don’t think my congresscritter is going to be re-elected...baron hill (ind).
In at least three of those races - Connecticut, Delaware, and Illinois - the current leading Republican candidate is a stone moderate RINO. Shouldn’t we be trying to find Conservatives for those races rather than run the risk of perpetuating the problem in the GOP?
A lot more are going to lose their seats.
I have not yet found a listing of those House members who voted for this abomination of a bill. Where to look?
Specter’s seat might go D again, but I doubt it will be with Specter in it...
Kennedy is gone. Byrd is almost gone.
And, of course, 3 Senators are in the White house — Obama, Biden, and Hillary.
Add to that the probably loss of Dodd, Reid and Boxer (for some reason not on the list) and you’ve got a decimated Senate leadership team.
Not only will Obama lose control of the House, but the leadership team in the Senate won’t be able to take advantage of their majority.

2010
Give Congressman Hoffman a call and ask him.
How about “Wait, I’m a democrat too!” candidates, like Snowe and Collins?
Joe Sestak will probably win that seat. Especially when he starts talking about being a veteran with over 20 years in the military. He retired as an Admiral and people in Pennsylvania will like that. I am from Pennsylvania and feel we need a good conservative who can counter that...preferably a Republican who served in the military. For some reason conseratives don’t serve in the military too much....Rush, Cheney, Beck among others. Hopefully they are out there for us.
Boxer - If she loses I will be happy, but also SHOCKED!!!!
Very funny, Jim.
The way Pelosi was crowing about a Dim winning the 23rd, we need to investigate the certainty that Nanzi made a deal with Scozzafava to drop out and endorse the Dem.
The next sound you hear is Dede working for the Obama admin in a six-figure job. Or maybe Ohah'll make her the Czar of Obesity (/snic).
10??????!!!!!!!!! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!
We need a conservative to run against David Vitter. He is the worst type of senator. Plus he will be rightfully so plummeled by the Democrats during the campaign. There has to be a conservative in Louisiana...there just has to be.
A lot of people here in Maryland are tired of Hoyer, and we have a good candidate running against him this time in Charles Lollar.
>>I dont think my congresscritter is going to be re-elected...baron hill (ind).
I hope so...Hill is an utter scumbag.
I think that the Rendell budget fiasco and high unemployment rate in PA will push a lot of votes to the Republican side . Sestak is an empty suit if he beats Spincter in the primary. One of the Superior Court seats went Republican outside the Burgh’ area last week . That set up a Rep. dominated superior court in PA.
Could be a rerun of Corzine loss in the People’s Republic of New Jersey!
That would be great to beat him. That would be shocking too. How about Nancy lose even to a moderate democrat, that would be great!
One may always find the Roll Call on a bill at the House or Senate Clerk’s website:
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2009/roll882.xml
I don't think Pelosi had to do that, though I certainly wouldn't put it past her. I think Scozzafava was more than willing on her own to endorse anyone other than the man who cost her a chance at a congressional seat. I've watched it happen in the Kansas 3rd district for the past 10 years. If a moderate wins the GOP nomination then the conservatives stay home. If a conservative wins the nomination then the moderates either stay home or vote for Moore. I don't know if that's what NY 23 is in for. I hope not.
The ONLY reason Sestak won was the unfounded charges about Weldon brought up by the Demorats which were found to be false months after the election .
He was also a target from the Pubbie side because he was spilling the beans on the Able-Danger incident .
I did not know much about that district as I am part of the Lehigh Valley district (we have a Republican!!! Yeah!). The only thing I know about Sestak is his Navy career. I remember him on active duty when I was stationed at one of my commands and he was on the same base. I never met him and he was very hard on his staff. I just think the military aspect of his life my influence some Pennsylvanians to vote for him unless we have a conservative to counter that. Remember Pennsylvania is a very big military state. Sheesh Murtha the Marine keeps getting reelected...
2010 in bold print can be a rallying cry...we can make it our flag to carry into TeaParties and other rallies!!!!
Scozzbag = Czar of Election Rigging
Alan Grayson will lose in Orlando Florida
“I dont think my congresscritter is going to be re-elected...baron hill (ind)”
Let’s make sure of that....I want this bootlicker GONE.
We’re hoping to finally retire Rep. David Obey (D-WI) after a way-too-long term in the House. Northern Wisconsin residents need to focus on sending Obey to the retirement home.
I prefer looking at it this way "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result!! We keep re-electing the same people to the same political offices and think that we are going to get something different out of Washington. What we see is what we got and, until we understand that and make definitive changes to the way we elect our "representatives", NOTHING in Washington and NOTHING in the federal government is going to change. The same is true for state and local government "representatives" as well.
“For some reason conseratives dont serve in the military too much....”
I beg to differ.
Most people do not serve in the military, conservative or liberal.
In the service, there is an over representation of minorities because the military presents opportunity independent of race, color or creed. Considering the demographics, I think you will find conservatives in higher proportion compared to the general population.
I have a general thought that a liberal interested in politics is more likely to join the service as a stepping stone to advance their political carreer
Start packing, Blanche—there’s a lot of people lining up to take your seat. :)
Remember that politicians are first and foremost----rank opportunists. That's what the calculated Rahm means when he says "don't waste a crisis."
Pols use anything and everything to stay in office.........and most of them get into politics to get a better-paying position.
Lawyers are told if they can stay in office for three years, their law practices will reap millions.
I've watched it happen in the Kansas 3rd district for the past 10 years. If a moderate wins the GOP nomination then the conservatives stay home. If a conservative wins the nom then the moderates either stay home or vote for Moore.........
Pols better be careful----there are those who know how to use the power of the internet.
Whatever It lands on career-wise. Who ever It works for & in whatever capacity?
Her career, as a Republican, must be over. Kaput. Fini.
If it isn't?
Then we all learn even more about the GOP and another facet to why we consistently lose.
One elects not to look, see the truth?
That's their choice; but, the future of their party won't be too bright, either.
"The next sound you hear is Dede working for the Obama admin in a six-figure job. Or maybe Ohah'll make her the Czar of Obesity (/snic)."\
LOL!!!
In charge of fat content for restaurants, school lunches etc.
Who could possibly argue with an expert of her proportion?
Perfect choice. LOL
I'm fluent in Slimespeakenese. LOL
Hmmmm. The new governor of Virginia comes to mind.
This conservative spent 26+ years in the US Navy. In my experience about 90% of all career military tend to be conservatives because, quite simply, the Democrats do not support the military in either pay or material readiness. They'd rather buy votes with their welfare programs. The sad thing is I vividly remember young married sailors eligible for food stamps because the pay was so poor. When you treat the people guarding your freedom this way, it's a disgrace.
Sorry for rambling.
“I’m fluent in Slimespeakenese. LOL “
I speak jive........
“What’s hap nin blooooood?”
“Ain’t nuthin hapnin but the rent, muh fuggah”
BWWWWWHAAAAAA!!
Hey that's not bad ebonics pal, a halfrican?????
Who knew.
Sure fooled me. LOL!!!!!
“BWWWWWHAAAAAA!!
Hey that’s not bad ebonics pal, a halfrican?????”
I overheard that from 2 porters at a car dealership.
I was quite taken by the exchange ;-)
I see.
Knew one at a stealership, too.
He called himself, "Milk Dud".
You'd have to have seen the guy from the rear to get it. LOL
"I was quite taken by the exchange"
And I'm quite touched by your display of sensitivity *and* honesty, my friend.
You're really an ol' softy, for a Capitalist. LOL
He may not win the primary. Sestak is the most extreme-left member of the entire PA delegation (and yet he represents a historically Republican district we’ll take back when he vacates it), and is one of the most leftist in the entire Congress (think in the neighborhood of the Stalinists from CA, such as Barbara Lee). Even if Sestak beats Specter in the primary, given the climate in ‘10, he won’t beat Toomey.
