Alleged shooter tied to mosque of 9/11 hijackers (but don't call him a terrorist)

The alleged Fort Hood shooter apparently attended the same Virginia mosque as two Sept. 11 hijackers in 2001, at a time when a radical imam preached there.

Whether the Fort Hood shooter associated with the hijackers is something the FBI will probably look into, according to a law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

The family of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist who killed 13 and wounded 29 at the Texas military base, held his mother's funeral at the Dar al Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Va., on May 31, 2001, according to her obituary in the Roanoke Times newspaper.

I don’t really care what mosque he attended, and I don’t think it amounts to much in this respect: the problem is NOT that he was “lured” or “radicalized” by the mosque’s imam.

The problem is very simple: he is a Muslim who reads the Koran and takes instructions from its pages. There’s enough hatred and emotional frenzy in those pages for anyone who believes it to act as Hasan did. They don’t need a ‘radical cleric’ or anyone else to ‘distort’ the Koran. The Koran does it all by itself.

It is an absolutely confused, convoluted, contradictory, and simply awful book. It reflects its ‘author’ - or rather the rambling fantasies and wild thoughts of an illiterate man who was arguably insane.

The problem is Islam. The source is the Koran and other similar books. It doesn’t need anything else.

Hasan proves what the media is in a fever pitch to cover up: the only requirement for being a murderous jihadist is that you ascribe to the principles of Islam, as espoused in the Koran. You don’t need to be a wild-eyed radical, with hollowed-out eye sockets, a scraggly beard, or any of the other popular images of the typical “radical.” The 9/11 pilots were mostly educated and seemingly rational people. Hasan, except for the fact that he felt safe enough to express his beliefs before he pulled the gun, was pretty much the same.

They only have to be a Muslim. Period. Maybe only 1 out of a thousand will act on what they’ve read, but they all read the same thing, so you never know when one is going to go off.

How many warnings will America need to wake up to this fact?
