House narrowly passes landmark health care bill
WASHINGTON (AP) - In a victory for President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled House narrowly passed landmark health care legislation Saturday night to expand coverage to tens of millions who lack it and place tough new restrictions on the insurance industry. Republican opposition was nearly unanimous.

Anh Joseph Cao of Louisiana. A Vietnamese Catholic who won a heavily democrat, mostly black district because Jefferson, the democrat was a corrupt degenerate crook.
*IF* Snow and Collins don’t defect then supposedly they would need only 1 Dem to sustain the filibuster. Lieberman says he will oppose the bill but I don’t trust him since he is a lefty at heart. We can hope Ben Nelson and maybe Blanche Lincoln would filibuster but they are going to face enormous pressure to go with the majority, and the will of the people be damned.

(Illegals, conveniently declared as legal under this bill also.)

The 39 democrats who voted no got the OK from Pelosi cause she already had enough votes and didn’t need thosee 39 to pass this socialist bill.
By voting no these democrats can keep their jobs in conservative districts and fool people into thinking that they really are conservative. If these democrats/Marxists are conservative then why not switch parties? why stay in a Marxist , evil party that is totally against everything conservative or American like freedom , liberty, private property rights etc. ?

I am hopeful that it will never be voted out of the Senate in any shape, form or fashion, that will be acceptable to their Democratic brothers in the House.
Want to see what you are going to get and how much you will have to pay? Come to Germany where everyone who works pay between 14-15% of their GROSS. Of course, the unemployed pay nothing. But you both get the same level of care. Not bad!!
However, there is a problem in Germany (and much of the rest of Western Europe) in that the population is rapidly aging and fewer and fewer jobs are being created. Wages are low here compared to American so this means that more and more will be taken from the few working to take care of the idle and retired.

I think Obama’s appearance was also the moment at which he referred to the opposition (us) as “tea baggers and extremists,” as reported in a couple of sources. He’s whipping up the hatred.
Bad things are going to happen to us. I feel sick to my stomach when I think about this. Who could ever have imagined that our beloved country would be on the path to becoming a totalitarian state in the course of less than a year and with no blood spilled?

Joseph Cao — R, LA. Isn’t Cao the first Vietnamese-American ever to be elected to teh House? As I remember, he once studied to be a priest. Perhaps that is the problem. The Catholic Church has been sending mixed messages about this Bill. i.e, they were upset about the abortion measures in the Bill, but not the Bill itself.
Mr. Cao — watch how fast those taxpayer paid abortion measures get put right back in by Pelosi and her crew in conference.

You mean a long way from becoming LAW. It's already a Bill, now a passed one in the House. Senate has to pass its bill, then conference committee, then vote again on the conference Bill, and then if both houses pass Obama signs to law. Fillibuster rule applies in the Senate so it really depends on what Lieberman and Snowe do. If they do not take part in a fillibuster then the bill goes to the floor and health care can pass with 50 votes plus Biden breaking the tie. Then we are screwed.
They could smear crap all over it and he would still sign it....if it gets that far.
See # 47. I’m just guessing about the priest connection, but that’s my guess, based on what I hear at church each Sunday. Church leaders have big softs at their perception of millions of people dying in the streets for lack of healthcare.
