My Own Gaultian Plan

Health Care has passed the house, putting the icing on the cake of Tarp Bailouts and Czars. I have decided to pull in my oars, and will no longer pull. 1. I am buying my food as locally and from small farmers. This keeps $$$ away from large agri-business who fund congressional champains. 2. I moved my money to a small local bank. They are not funding projects out of state, and are as furious as I am about what congress has done lately. 3. I have pushed my 401K up to 12.5 percent, and should have it at 20% by mid 2010. This keeps my money out of the DC Snake pit. 4. I am making sure our traditional IRA's are at the limit this year. There will be little for them to tax after this move. 5. I should have my two credit cards paid off by the end of the year. This may be counter productive because it puts cash into the hands of Chase, but no plan is perfect. 6. We grow most of our own food.

What I am considering. I am thinking about creating a self directed IRA, and getting my money into bonds for companies that do not support liberals. Does any one know of any conservative bond or stock funds?

Are there additional ideas out there?

You may want to rethink these two. Pelosi, queen vampire of the parasite constituency has her eyes on confiscating them..since you know, the government (especially Congress) is so much better in money matters than we are (apparently the ability to balance a budget is bad) and wants to save you from the dumb investment decisions you’ll make. She’ll invest for you and promise to pay you something like 3% on your money :-) That is if congress doesn’t raid those funds also and then by the time you retire there is nothing left.

Yep, avoid paying tax, buy used private party, internet where there’s no sales tax. Keep it legal though, the penalty for Conservatism will be high.

The next (and last remaining) money pot is 401k retirement savings. The concept of confiscating your entire principal and "paying you" a paltry 3% interest on it has already been floated. It will be "returned" to you along with your "social security" (from that bankrupt program). When you die, the government keeps anything not disbursed to you. It isn't part of your estate.

You know exactly what will happen. It will be confiscated and spent with reckless abandon. Your life savings will be a smoking pile of debris.

Our ancestors nearly killed off all the wild game in the country by about 1925, when there were many fewer people and they were using more primitive weapons. There will be no "living off the land" if there is a serious societal breakdown. Every deer in America will be dead in three months if that is to become the main source of protein for 300 million Americans.

And they’ll put it through by applying the same failed ponzi scheme.

They’ll take it in order to give to the retiring Baby Boomers whose retirement plan has been wiped out.

They’ll promise to pay you back through future 401K contributions.

They’re as good as gone.

Anyone who still has theirs in the markets is just begging to have them stolen by the market manipulators anyway.

Or we could take over a country south of the border and liberate it from a tinhorn dictator and start over with our same constitution. It sounds weird in this day and age, but that is how they used to do things. It feels like there is nowhere to go.

Do not think your 401K and IRA's are safe forever from the tyrannical claws of the democrat dragon. They will find a way to get to your money, no matter how responsible and sensible you are with you money today.

Meanwhile, the irresponsible today will continue their freespending ways, know that there will always be sensible people like you to bail them out later in life, via higher taxes, fees, and government raids on your savings and investments.

Buy 2-3 fireproof, waterproof safes. Hide them. Deal only in cash or barter whenever possible. Take your money out of the bank, your 401K, whatever else you have and stash it. Leave only enough to cover your bills. Pay cash for everything you can. Don’t pay any sales tax if possible. Buy on Ebay, yard sales, or the internet where there is no tax and shipping is free.

DO NOT buy from any company that supports the Pinkos. No McDonalds or other fast foods. Buy from local markets and stock up. Go pick your own vegetables, fruits, etc. and freeze them or can them. You can spend 2-3 hours and pick enough vegetables to last a year. We go to Homestead and fill the freezers by doing this. Better yet, grow your own, if you can.

If you really want to go Galt, do it all they way. Do your research, learn who is the enemy and stick to your plan. Yes, it will be tough and the fact that you want to leave your 401K so they can get what they didn’t already get, not smart. It’s very risky as others here have mentioned.
Claim 10 dependents. Make the government wait on their money. If 50 million people did that, it would bring them to their knees in a month or two.

Sell stuff you don’t need or use on Ebay. Stash the cash. Buy ammo. Ammo is like gold in a shtf situation and you can always sell it later and get your money back.

Government coups and the danger of tyranny requires drastic measures on our part and it often means moving outside the comfort zone, way outside of it.

#1- always have your passport and plans to get out just in case.

I agree. We bit the bullet and took everything out. Luckily we did it before we lost a lot. Had we left it, even with the current market, we would still be way down.

Look at Costa Rica. English is the main language, low cost of living and a decent government all things considered.

Another thing you can do is never buy another new vehicle.

Buy used vehicles, and keep your old ones running, but don't use the repair shops of dealers.

That way, instead of supporting UAW/Government Motors parasites, you are supporting the independent entrepreneurs who run local car shops.

Wow! This is news to me.

Two summers ago my husband and I spent 6 months living with Costa Rican families while attending Spanish language school full-time. We were there during their vote for the TLC ( the free trade agreement with the U.S.).

I was shocked and appalled at the pure Marxist rhetoric used not only to oppose the TLC but also all other political issues as well. Costa Rican academics and leading cultural leaders are solidly Marxist. And....The vote that finally approved the TLC was **very** close.

Costa Rica is teetering on the edge of communism. Personally, I think any American who invests even a dime in any property or business in Costa Rica is very foolish. This country could turn fully communist at any moment.

As for English being the language of Costa Rica, don't be silly. Yes, those Costa Ricans who interface with foreigners ( of all countries) are more likely to speak English since this language is the international language of business,...But...unless you wish to live in self imposed isolation with other Americans, Spanish is necessary.

Welcome to the club. I have pulled WAY back on my participation in Obama’s socialist economy. My income taxes will be down 65% this year, and my spending is down over 75%. I’m not hiring or considering doing so until we have a real American as president (and Trolls, that means someone who loves our country, it’s got nothing to do with skin color). I’m charging Obama supporters more than twice what I charge real Americans for my services - for now, it’s still easy to get them to admit to supporting evil during the casual chat while I evaluate what needs to be done. I’ve also successfully boycotted all TARP/Bailout recipients, and I will continue doing so for life. Ford/GM/Citi/BofA are all dead to me. Forever.

On the good side for our future, if there is another election and we take back our country, I’ll have a whole lot of money saved up, and I’ll be ready to use my hiring and spending as one small part of the economic boom we all hope to see. I just hope and pray that we can avoid a “crisis” timed to cancel the next election cycle.

If you are paying your taxes, don’t whine. If you are feeding and fueling and subsidizing the government, you are whining about something that you make possible. Don’t bloviate about the (not!) coming armed rebellion and the courageous last stand on your doorstep. It’s on your doorstep NOW. Indeed, it’s crawling around in your checkbook and your wallet and that is where you ought to be resisting it.

If you don’t like the beast, don’t feed the beast. No need for violence whatsoever. Retire, go Galt, tighten the belt, give up the lifestyle for the sake of the America you say you love.

Until then, you are part of the problem. The sponsor part.

Ah, a reasonable amount of Government is necessary, I certainly don’t mind paying my fair share, for the parts I agree with. Although, Charlie Chaplin did show a Tramp can still have dignity and pride

We may have to get past the gut-level reaction to the idea of eating dogs, as well as rats and other vermin. Just cook it like you would pork.

Remember too the unpleasant fact that hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of soft city dwellers will starve waiting for government rations (or trying to live on them), competing for the fallen crumbs with those selfsame dogs and rats that they could not bring themselves to kill and butcher even if they had the means to do it.

Heck, more and more, it seems like she's been writing the headlines!

Though I disagree with much of her philosophy, Objectivism, I think that she was right on economically.

And even if the market goes up another 1K, with the coming devaluing of the dollar due to hyper-inflation or the world dropping the dollar as the reserve currency, the money in 401Ks is going to be fairly worthless.

Not much, but I have been told by people who worked down there that English is the language, the climate tropical, and at the time, anyway, real estate was reasonable. I wish I could give you more, but I can’t.

Not worried about Spanish as I understand, speak, and can read it fairly well,I don`t consider myself fluent as I can`t write it. I`m talking about the Government,but thanks,it may be a fall back.
