Don't bring your pitchforks. This is to be our "last stand" to stop health care reform, it's Alamo time. Don't let your congressmen call it a "rally" or "protest"--make sure they say "press event" or "press conference." The point is to see "the whites of their eyes," because there's nothing a congressman fears more than a "freedom-loving American." Oh, and don't dress "too nicely." We don't want the press to start calling this another "Brooks Brothers riot" like they did when Bush aides stormed Miami hallways to stop the 2000 recount.
You can feel the tension between the urge to bully and the need to seem "normal" in every hectic contradiction sent out over the past couple days by Rep. Michelle Bachmann and the Republican Study Committee to the thousands of Tea Partiers who gathered to protest at the Capitol on Thursday. And you have to sympathize. Truly, it isn't easy to be inoffensively radical, or respectably revolutionary, or even pleasantly insane.
Brought in on buses chartered by the corporate astroturf group Americans For Prosperity, they were the now de rigeur crew of white folks of a certain age, carrying signs emblazoned with Holocaust corpse pits and Obama as the Joker. Most wound up snarled before the metal detectors at the entrances to House and Senate office buildings across the street from the Capitol, trying to get inside to "scare" their congresspeople but instead spilling into the traffic outside. A handful of anti-abortion protesters were arrested at Nancy Pelosi's office in the Canon House Office Building (Pelosi wasn't there; she spent most of her day in the Capitol itself, where access is strictly limited).(continued)

Payback time. 2010.
Hmmmmm.....AFP is "astroturfing"....what's that make the UNIONS and ACORN then?

Old Claude Pepper of FL bellered "Hands of my Medicare" until the House repealed what was actually a pretty good law, signed by President Reagan, in just a couple of days!!!
This isn't over with YET!!!
Another lib with incurable BDS. Jeez, will we never be rid of them?
The Nation's editors spend their time penning satires of Sarah Palin while Americans suffer from the egregious excesses of this government. Forget "The Nation" and their "respectable revolutions" and save THE NATION.

>> To think that there are millions who think this way...
The only thing we share with these losers is a lexicon of disparagement.

Why do they *always* look like gussied-up bag ladies?
Pathetic.
I was going to go on a rant, but why bother? The pure silliness of these people...to think that because someone isn't young and pretty and of the "right" color, it's somehow unacceptable that they dare to speak out in public...it just defies parody. As does the bull about astroturf and not bringing pitchforks, as if protests haven't always been organized, and the more vociferous haven't been told to soften their image so as not to allow the media to spin them as the norm of the group.
Pathetic how "liberals" so fear free expression they supposedly champion.
Meanwhile reports from Obie’s “conversations” with House members indicate he said the sacrifice to Representatives who vote for this will pale in comparison to the sacrifices of the soldiers at Ft. Hood.
They are intellectual magpies, and their appearance is just a projection of their cognitive style.
What a picture. An insult to bag ladies.
“The mass murder reminded us that... George Bush’s two unfinished—and unfinishable—wars are taking an unimaginable toll on American soldiers and their families. Not to mention that those hopeless quagmires are siphoning off more money than this mild bill could ever cost, while destroying the morale of the last national institution, the military, with anywhere near the resources it needs to function.”
What came first — the bad hair or the bad ideas?
lol, The Nation
People who took AFP charter buses mostly paid $25.00 per seat roundtrip (a 7 to 10 dollar discount rate). Most groups paid for and chartered their own buses. Even with all the organizing of buses, there wasn't enough buses for people who wanted to attend. As usual the leftist press gets it totally wrong. Groups attempting to get their people down to DC, were only trying to meet the grassroots demand.
The left can keep lying to themselves about it at their own peril. The Tea party movement is one of the truest and strongest grassroots movements ever, and totally unlike the the brainwashed youth who comprised the 60's revolution.
What a mug that one has! Instead of smearing non-trotskyites, she should spend a little time finding out how to use a mirror.
Payback time when the U.S. Senate votes. We only lost by 5 votes, and the Senate should be easier. We all need to fight a little harder to get the Senate to vote for freedom.
Look for them to use budget reconciliation to push through about 75% of this legislation. Heard this out of the mouth of Tom Daschle at the Reagan Library this week. It is not going to be easier. It is a dog fight and we are losing it.
“It is a dog fight and we are losing it.”
If you feel that way, fight harder. If conservatives fought harder in only 5 districts, getting more of their friends to call their reps, etc., maybe it would have been different.
I do. I shall.
Tens of millions.
Let's just talk this out, OK?
The mass murder reminded us that, while Bachmann's flock were arguing hysterically about "death panels" and taxes to pay for "other peoples' health care" (as one Tea Partier complained to NBC), George Bush's two unfinished--and unfinishable--wars are taking an unimaginable toll on American soldiers and their families. Not to mention that those hopeless quagmires are siphoning off more money than this mild bill could ever cost, while destroying the morale of the last national institution, the military, with anywhere near the resources it needs to function...
Part of me says Bush should have fought these smug bastards when he was in office because they have so effectively warped much of American thinking; and part of me says the odds of winning a fight against the leftist MSM are terrible and it should be the job of the new generation of the right to devise an effective counter strategy. Maybe the surest strategy is let the left do exactly what they want because the untold tragedy, misery and evil their policies generate will guarantee no reelection. And the American people will maybe realize that they get the government they deserve — that is, it will be terrible if they don’t wise up and pay attention. Maybe they’ll learn that looks should not count for much unless you’re on American Idol, talk doesn’t count for much if there is no record of action to back it up, don’t trust the MSM anymore, etc. In other words, buyer’s remorse is what is needed to learn a hard lesson in life.
“I do. I shall.”
WTG!
My Dem rep., who is not a blue dog, voted against Pelosicare. Maybe Pelosi allowed him to do so in order to win reelection in a somewhat conservative district. Or maybe he was more afraid of his constituents than he was of Pelosi because so many constituents told him to vote No.
I feel as if I did my part by writing an open letter to him in his home town newspapers which was published, calling the local talk show, and of course, calling and emailing him many times myself.
The huge demonstrations during the Vietnam war had no impact on policy, did not end the war and were an exercise in futility for the left. They view the tea parties in the same way. We had better understand that. Just as Nixon ignored the demonstrations in his day, they are ignoring ours. Waiting for legitimate elections in 2010 could also be a fatal mistake on our part. Peple who are prone to cheat and steal elections are liable to do more of it not less if they constantly get away with it as they have over the last 50 years....
Good luck with that. Don’t hold your breath.
lol, looks like she attempted a Sarah Palin updo, but FAILED MISERABLY.
The Ft. Hood killings are the chickens of the left coming home to roost. Already the chief political correspondent of The Nation has decried even mention of the fact that the jihadist killer Hasan is a Palestinian Muslim. According to The Nation this is Islamophobia. This fatuous attempt to protect Americas enemies carries on The Nations 60-year tradition as the leading fifth column collaborator with Americas enemies... http://newsrealblog.com/2009/11/06/our-brain-dead-country/
What I love is I can give a Leftist back the exact, same thing they have been wanting for years... so often have I heard it and you have too... and yet when a Leftist criticizes Americans coming out to protest taxation, the phrase is so simple and the cognitive dissonance is so profound:
“The people, united, will never be defeated.”
Sucks to be on the pointy end of that, I bet.
I was, of course, referencing Tea Parties which the Left is ever so ready to declare racist, hate speech and any number of other slanders. Of course I see them as an organic outgrowth of the basic culture of the Nation without respect to any race, religion or other external artifact. Remember for all those lovely Leftist protests, they need months to get ready, build costumes and so vent their spleen that it can sit and wait for awhile. Regular Americans like to get to the point and make it, already. And repeatedly. Until they get fed up with demonstrating... the Left always wants that but never seems to get it. Now that it is happening under their noses, they ignore it, speak against it and take the position of the ancien regime. Strange that they forget what happens to the ancien regime, but then the Left is lacking in critical historical analysis that goes beyond Marx, so their cozying up to a power structure they have helped decay is really just desserts and all that.
After that comment I left this one, which is a bit more to the point of things:
“The FFT, remember, doesn’t say that information moves with breathtaking speed these days. (Everyone knows that!) The FFT says that people are comfortable processing that information with what seems like breathtaking speed.” - Mickey Kaus
As things change faster, people adapt to it faster, thus the cycle time of events compresses. In the old Eastern Bloc it was 9 years for Poland to get out from under the USSR, 9 months for East Germany, 9 weeks for Hungary, 9 days for Czechoslovakia, and Romania pretty near imploded in no time at all...as we grew accustomed to the idea that Eastern Europe could throw off totalitarian communism, it did so faster and faster.
So if we take a look at how our last revolution went... from the Stamp Act of 1765 to the Boston Tea Party 1773: 6 years. Then from Tea Party to Bunker Hill: 2 years. To Revolution from that: 1 year. Then 7 years of fighting, with 5 years of nearly losing it under the Confederation.
So if the first Tea Party of last month is the start, applying the FFT: 6 months to the real turning point, or August. October for conflict. November for Declaration. JUN 2010 victory. NOV 2010 nearly losing it all. Then JAN 2011 a new accord.
I doubt it will happen just like that... but the Feiler Faster Thesis gets us very used to change being compressed and since we are used to that it does get compressed. The American experience dragged on in the old days... we get things done more rapidly now. And then somewhere around 2029-30 we do it all over again, but faster.
Let’s just try to keep the body count down this time around... 10% dead and 15% fled from last time and this time that 15% has nowhere to go. Not good.

Don’t give up. Fight harder. Nancy Pelosi and other leftists don’t give up, do they?
Typical CBS nonsense.
Gads, I detest these anti-Capitalist morons. And why do the leftist cows always resemble dirty-haired Janeane Garofalo hippies? They rant and rail against the very system that enabled them to be in the position to rant in the first place. If they were in one of their beloved communist countries, they’d be cleaning toilets in 3rd rate hotels and feeling damned lucky to have that career.
Yech!
(Note to self: need to add a new rule regarding these leftist idiots in media)
It is the country’s oldest and most devoted Marxist rag, founded to faithfully parrot Karl’s ideas when he was still a living memory and faithfully purssing them ever since, throuth the death and slaugter of tens of millions in his name. But they’re really a “party elite,” the self anointed “vanguard of the masses.” Their readership is small and if if it were not for the uniform Eurosocialism of the MSM very few would actually pay any attention to what is said in their pages. As the late Eric Hoffer used to point out, you won’t find people actually reading it in the union halls, maybe in the headquarters.
