CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Megan Williams, who was supposed to take back her story that seven Logan County residents beat, raped and tortured her, didn't speak at a press conference at her lawyer's office on Wednesday.
Instead, lawyer Byron L. Potts recanted her claims for her. He said Williams told him that the only injuries that weren't self-inflicted were the bruises on her face.
"She is recanting the entire incident. She says it did not happen, and she's scared,'' Potts said. He urged prosecutors to re-examine the cases against the seven people convicted in the attack.
Authorities don't believe Williams' new claims. They point to the physical evidence and the fact that all seven defendants pleaded guilty and confessed their roles in the incident.

Shabazz and Sharpton.
Two negro race-baiters.
Pretty strange that all seven confessed to an incident that supposedly didn't happen!
I know I would never confess to raping someone if I didn't do it.
Way more here than meets the eye
I think someone is making threats to her. They did it, do doubt....she is scared for some reason.
“Pretty strange that all seven confessed to an incident that supposedly didn’t happen! “
Ever heard of a person with no money who takes a plea in a case being tried in the court of public opinion just because they think it’s better than the alternative?
Happens all the time in our justice system, unfortunately.
You have a point there too. I admit I am not sure what happened. Williams filed a domestic violence suit against this boyfriend in July before all this happened then she went back to him. Like so many stupid women, he beat her, she goes to court, then goes back to him? Why? She should have done what my Grandmother always said “put him on the shit list”.
Sure, it happens all the time, but my point was ALL SEVEN confessed. You would think at least one would say no if they were innocent
“Sure, it happens all the time, but my point was ALL SEVEN confessed.”
Good point.
