A Democrat just admitted that the GOP bill will reduce the cost of healthcare more than the Dem Plan.

“There bill will cost less because you get less”

What the heck is wrong with getting less? Everyone doesn’t need to drive a BMW either.

Republican Leader Boehner offering alternative Health Care Bill Now...And yet the 'rats continue to say the 'pubs have never offered any alternative to Obamacare - their insistence on making political points instead of engaging in rational and sincere discussion on this crucial issue is infuriating......

I would not be suprised if 35 democrats who will not vote for the Pelosi Bill, vote for the GOP bill. Not enough to pass the bill, but enough to give those moderate democrats cover for the coming election.

And take away a hammer that can used against them.

Reminds me of the cities that push so hard for light rail. It doesn't matter to Democrats that they could purchase 1000 more city buses cheaper with more flexibility to change routes. They want to play SimCity upon on us.

Another one is traffic cameras. It was never about safety because they set the light to quickly change to yellow and then red. The idea is to catch the driver running a red light and raising funds for the city.

And never ever trust anyone that says they are doing it "for the children."

My wife is from Taiwan and her description of public healthcare is not appealing. Doctors normally see 100 patients per day because everyone will go to the doctor for the smallest thing. Whenever she goes home to visit, the government gives her a bill for the the back payments into the public healthcare system for all the years she has been gone. We always ignore the bill and it keeps growing.

Boehner is the bane of our existence. The rats run circles around him and he just sits there like the invertebrate eunuch that he is. Duh. We’d be better off if all the pubs would just go on as a formal protest of the entire fiasco.

Just what we need! A Republican "alternative."

When exactly did "health care" become an issue anyway? I know Bill and Hillary made a big deal about it. But did Dukakis, Mondale or Carter even mention it?

Ditto "Global Warming." It seems to me that the Left gets to invent crises that never were.

If the GOP would have presented their plan for a vote sooner, it would have gotten lost in the rhetoric. The timing was planned for as much impact as possible. Like Michele’s House Call. The 9-12 tea party was great, I loved seeing a million conservatives on the mall, but her’s was more forceful and impactful.

I guess we need to start thinking how we can dismantle this entire mess when we get power back. Maybe leave something of a shell for free mammograms, prostate checks and flu shots but that’s it. Take the medical liability away so their trial lawyers can’t make all this money to prop these sorry excuses of politicans up, no illegals coverage, no abortion, and if you want a single room in the hospital you can take out private insurance to take care of that.

Cheer up folks, next election is going to be a landslide, in 2012 we get everything back and it will be a very long time before these clowns ever get to set foot in the White House again. There are sooooo many of us. We have them by the cojones and they know it.

Most of GOP will support the Stupak amendment, which is the right call on principle and strategy.

Way to go Congress.

“I guess we need to start thinking how we can dismantle this entire mess when we get power back”

Nope. Won’t happen. We will need 60 votes in the senate net of Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins to overturn it. Plus, there will be big financial winners out of this and they will pay oodles to prevent it being overturned. Finally, we will have a new welfare class (everyone) who will be demagogued just the way seniors have been on Social Security and Medicare over the years. “The Republicans want to take away your health care!”

I cannot see us getting a secure 60 vote margin to reverse it absent a depression worse than 1933.

So IMHO, this is the whole enchilada. There’s no coming back from socialized medicine. That’s why they are going to shove it up our *** despite all electoral consequences and despite the public opposition. They know it puts them into long term power. I loathe them.

I hear what you are saying but I’m not quite as pessimistic. I know socialized medicine. I was born and raised in a socialist country. It won’t work. America is NOT socialist material. Americans are not going to put up with the mediocrity of it all. I’m not saying it won’t be painful for a while, but the majority of Americans aren’t going to stand for this. Adding 30-40 million people to a system that will have doctors fleeing elsewhere is going to be blowing up in their faces big time.

Were that you were right. I’ve been around for a few years and in my life, I’ve seen the left successively convert large chunks of the public into a welfare class (including medium and large corporations, wall-street etc.). Once it happens, you can’t go back—too many people start living based on the assumptions of ongoing welfare and too much money and voting power is behind keeping the structure.

We are looking at an acceleration of our formerly slow and now fast collapse into soft fascism that will become increasingly harder over time. Until now, I have held out hope it was possible to stop and reverse what seemed like a steady progression. Socialized medicine makes that impossible without dire consequences.

It will take an enconomic collapse or a revolution to change that. I don’t wish that on my children or grandchildren (or myself for that matter). And, the outcome of events like that is far too unpredictable. We could come out of collapse or revolution with something worse than Obama and Pelosi.

I hate the people who have done this to America. I know I will have to seek forgiveness for my current and very sincere hope for their eternal souls. But right now, my thought are thoroughly un-Christian.

I know that God raises up the rulers. But I’m having a hard time accepting His will in this regard right now. Destroying a nation, this nation, seems like a terrible thing for which a terrible price should be paid by the perpetrators. I guess it’s a good thing I’m not God. In ModelBreaker’s world, there would be no forgiveness for them, even if were they to repent and accept the Lord.

I totally agree with you. How can I sit down at a Thanksgiving table this year with my DimoRat relatives and “give thanks?” I hate them for being fat and lazy; not following any of this, buying the hope and change crap-all of it.
