At this moment, Democratic sources say their internal head counts have them breaking through the 218 mark this afternoon. Whether that will mean that more Democrats will come on board, or that Pelosi is going to cut other members lose, is still unclear. But Dems are confident they have won.

True, however Pelosi is speaking with an air of confidence that it will in the the house chambers presently.
This bill is still going to conference and must pass another floor vote after conference committee. Even if it gets past this vote, there’s no guarantee that it will get past the final floor vote, especially if pressure is maintained on the so-called Blue Dogs.
I just heard Pelosi say that they not only have the support of AMA, AARP, Conumer’s Union, the National Cancer Society, maybe something about the Heart Association - she said over 300 groups support the legislation.
We know that the AMA is having a revolt among doctors, and that AARP has been bought off, I wish I knew about the rest.
Isn't it wonderful we've got all those Rats mouthing off how they have saved America's Health Care system and given us all a new lease on life?

Let it happen... for now. We warned those lapdogs about 2010, and if this comes to pass they’re going down hard. If they are laying their careers and reputations at the altar of this monstrosity, then so be it.

Exactly! The house dems may be walking the plank for Pelosi only to have the Senate screw them by not being able to pass anything. If that happens it is the worst of both worlds for the Blue Dogs. They have a vote on record for this monstrosity and then will have no bill passed.

This bill will linger like the Cap and Tax bill has. The Senate will not pass a bill this liberal and if it’s watered down, Pelosi loses House votes.
This is a symbolic vote meant to appease the base so Obama can get away with sending troops to Afghan.

I’m concerned that Pelosi has convinced these “blue dogs” that they’ll be re-elected through Acorn, union thugs, ACLU etc. They MUST have an ace up their sleeve! After this past Tuesday I’m shocked this isn’t dead!
You're right. I should have added that there's no guarantee that this bill - or anything remotely close to it - will even make it out of conference committee.
As Limbaugh says, now is not the time for panic. Now is the time for unrelenting pressure, irrespective of this particular vote.

AARP has sold their Medicare Advantage plans to millions of their members that will be eliminated if this bill passes!

Ok, let’s say it does pass in the House. Senate still hasn’t voted and might not for some time. Is there anything that can be done in the courts to stall the implementation of this socialistic takeover until next year’s elections? It’s time to start planning for the worst make strategy accordingly.
But let’s not forget that they want to start this plan in Jan 2010 so they can seize control immediately.

Well, one group you can add is the ANA...the American Nurses’ Association....I am a nurse and have never been a member because they had all of these “degree” nurses with agendas outside of improved health care. Any nurse with any concern for this country should drop from that group if they are a member. I never heard of any uprising in the nursing community against their endorsing this bill...much unlike the doctors. It’s a sad day, indeed.

Have you listened to their ads of late....urging people to buy Medicare Supplement plans...which are different than Medicare Advantage plans.
